The Lütoulang, or Donkey-Headed Wolf ( 驢頭狼 ) is said to roam the wilderness of China. It is typically described as having a wolf's body, a donkey's head, and clawed paws. It is said to either make the bray of a donkey or the howl of a wolf. The lütoulang is a predatory animal that is reportedly unafraid of humans. When its typical prey is unable to be found, it will hunt livestock or smaller human beings that it can overpower. They can reportedly run incredibly fast over long distances to chase down prey.

Some researchers, like biologist Liu Minzhuang, believed that the lütoulang was a surviving chalicothere. Cryptozoologist David C. Xu disagrees, pointing out that chalicothere were herbivores. Xu simply believes that the lütoulang was a wolf seen under poor conditions that lead to its odd appearance. Others offer hyenas or a kind of surviving Amphicyonidae.

The skrimsl was first reported in the late 1500s. Said to live in Icelandic lakes such as Skorradalsvatn, this creature was often described as being seal-like and having a hu**ed or segmented body.

Eggert Ólafsson described one event of seeing this creature. It was documented in the 1772 book Reise Igiennem Island. The sighting happened near Skálholt.

“In 1595 on a Sunday afternoon some of the parishioners returning from Skalholt church and crossing the river on the ferry, saw a monstrous creature as big as a house, come out of the water and make off at high speed for quite a long way down the river where it dived: its head was, according to the description in the chronicles like that of a sea-hound, its back garnished with high spines and the rump short.”

1909 was a peak year for the Jersey Devil. There were hundreds of reported sightings during the week of January 16th to January 23rd - the pictured newspaper was published on the 21st. There were over 1,000 reports of the Jersey Devil over the entire year. During this specific week in January, the fright of the monster even prompted schools to close.

One eyewitness of the Jersey Devil described his encounter: “[It was] about three feet and half high, with a head like a collie dog and a face like a horse. It had a long neck, wings about two feet long, and its back legs were like those of a crane, and it had horse’s hooves. It walked on its back legs and held up two short front legs with paws on them. It didn’t use the front legs at all while we were watching. My wife and I were scared, I tell you, but I managed to open the window and say, ‘Shoo’, and it turned around barked at me, and flew away.”

Dr Karl P.N. Shuker would write an article for the “ Fortean Times ” concerning the mysterious creature he would name “The Gambian Sea Serpent”; however, upon publishing the magazine would change the name to simply “Gambo”. This would become its official name. Gambo marked a rare moment in cryptozoology. Usually when the co**se of an unidentified creature washes ashore it is so badly decomposed it's simply labeled a "globster". Instead, Gambo, with all its prehistoric features was almost completely intact! While many dismiss it simply as a misidentified dolphin, Shuker points out in his book "Sill In search of Prehistoric Survivors" the combination of features rules out any identifiable mammal, fish, or reptile. So we are left with yet another mystery to ponder and as always... Keep it Creepy!

Selina Frances Nanette Louise Lovell, Born in London, England in 1827, would immigrate to Australia in 1863. In 1880 she waste appointed sole teacher at the small and remote Sandy Cape provisional school. She would collect specimens and send them to the Queensland Museum and to Colonial Botanist FM Bailey. Bailey would name 3 plants after her. Then in 1890, at the age of 63, she would encounter a bizarre chimeric creature that seemed cobbled together from various animals: turtle, alligator, fish. Despite her history with Queensland Museum many would dismiss the sighting as a hoax.
