How do we ensure all pups in our home stay happy, health, and space while here? Safety is our top priority at our home. We take every precaution to ensure the security and well-being of all pets in our care. We make sure that all exits are securely locked and gated to prevent any pets from escaping. During feeding time, we keep all pets separate to avoid any conflicts. If dogs are left alone at home, we ensure that they are separated, unless they are from the same family, and take extra precautions to guarantee their safety. If your dog is accustomed to being crated, we will follow that routine to provide a sense of security. We are vigilant in monitoring all pets, especially when they are outdoors, to ensure their safety at all times. In case of any issues, we will immediately get in touch with you.

What sets us apart from other home based pet sitters is that we are fully insured with our private insurance policy, just like an other kennel facility.

We maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in all areas of our home. Before and after every stay, we thoroughly clean and sanitize all the spaces to ensure that all dogs in our care stay healthy and happy while they are with us.

At Em & Arlo Pet Care, we are dedicated to providing a loving and attentive environment for your pets. I am home full time caring for pets and my online shop .liz.artistry. With my husband and retired mother living with us, there’s almost always someone around to keep the pups company.

Our drop off and pick up times are tailored to accommodate your schedule, with business hours extending from 7 am to 10 pm during the fall and winter seasons. For early drop-offs before 7 am or late pick-ups after 10 pm, special arrangements can be made with prior notice. Please note that an early drop-off fee of $20 applies for drop-offs between 6 am and 6:59 am.

If you opt for me to handle the drop off and pick up, rest assured that the rates are calculated based on the 2024 IRS rate of 67 cents per mile to the client’s home and back, ensuring fair and transparent pricing for our services.

When your pets stay with us, they become a part of our family. We take pride in being among the best and most experienced pet sitters in the area, offering a range of services including boarding in our home, doggie daycare, drop- visits. (As of 11/6/24 we are only taking appointments for drop-in visits for current clients, and will return after the holidays).

We are fully insured to cater to all your pet care needs, ensuring that your pets receive the love and attention they deserve while you’re away. Whether you want adorable photos of your pets or just want to ensure they receive the love and care they need, I’m the girl for you. With extensive knowledge about dogs and experience with various other animals, including training and raising service dogs, I can also help with pet training teach basic and advanced tricks.

Our home provides a loving, cuddly, and fun environment for your pets. I thoroughly enjoy dog training and helping dogs be the best they can be. From puppies to senior dogs, and those with illnesses or special needs, I have experience caring for pets of all ages and requirements.

Your dogs will have a wonderful time with our dogs, Arlo and Flynn. They become an integral part of our family during their stay. With a spacious, securely fenced yard for outdoor playtime and a puppy-proof home, your pets will have a blast. Our yard is dog-proof, and we also use 50ft long lines for added security for any dogs who may be escape artists. We take precautions to keep any potentially hazardous objects out of reach and closely monitor all pets for any signs of distress or unusual behavior. Rest assured that if any issues arise, I am well-prepared to act swiftly and in the best interest of your pets.

Hey there, fur-loving friends! We’re thrilled to share the exciting journey of Em & Arlo Pet Care and how it all began!

Hi, I’m Emily, the proud owner of Em & Arlo Pet Care and the devoted dog mom to two amazing aussiedoodles! My love for animals has been with me since I was little. While I didn’t have a dog of my own growing up (just a whole menagerie of fish and my adorable hamster, Fat Amy—yes, named after the character from Pitch Perfect!), my heart was always set on dogs. So, I started pet sitting at just 14, hanging out with neighbors’ and friends’ pets, soaking in all the joy they brought into my life!

At 19, I realized I wanted to take my passion to the next level. When I met my sister-in-law, who ran her own pet sitting business, I was over the moon! Every visit was an adventure filled with furry friends. It hit me—I wanted to dive deeper into the world of pet care and make it my own business while juggling my college schedule.

Fast forward through countless wagging tails, and I discovered so much about different dog breeds and personalities. This knowledge helped me decide on the perfect pup for me. After extensive research and waiting for just the right litter, I was ready! In March 2020, our little Arlo came into the world. Just as we prepared to welcome him home, the world hit pause due to COVID. While it brought its own challenges, there was a silver lining—we had more time than ever to train Arlo and set him on the path to becoming a fantastic canine citizen! COVID gave us the opportunity to open not one but two businesses, pet care and our online etsy shop .liz.artistry

We jumped headfirst into the dog training community, pouring our hearts into Arlo’s education. By January 2021, as the world began to open up, Arlo and I resumed school, allowing him to gradually adapt to public life without feeling overwhelmed. The journey has been incredible, and I can’t thank the trainers and the dog community enough for their support along the way!

Thanks to Arlo, I get to live my dream every day, which is why naming our business Em & Arlo Pet Care felt so perfect—he truly is the reason for it all! Arlo helped us through opening two businesses and running them successfully.

When Arlo was about a year and a half old, we welcomed his half-brother, Flynn Ryder, into our home! These two became instant best friends, bringing double the joy into our lives. Both boys are eager to lend a paw, as any Aussie would! Flynn is currently training to become a therapy dog, while Arlo proudly serves as a full-time cardiac alert service dog.

In May 2024, I left my “day job” and took the leap to run Em & Arlo Pet Care and Em Liz Artistry from home full-time. It was absolutely the best decision I ever made!
Arlo, Flynn, and I can’t wait to meet new furry companions and host your pups for the ultimate doggie vacation! We’re so excited to share this adventure with you and can’t wait to create more joyful memories together! 🐾🎉

☃️❄️Wow! What an incredible start to the season – the pups experienced their very first snowfall of this season today! ❄️⛄We were all pleasantly shocked to wake up to a winter wonderland this morning. The pups were absolute champions, embracing the chilly air and frosty flakes with pure joy. Tonight, we had the most magnificent snowflakes swirling around us, creating the perfect playground for them to run and play! It’s official: we’re saying a big farewell to Halloween and getting ready to dive headfirst into the magic of the holiday 🎄🎅🏻🤶🏻

Working with working breeds can be a lot of fun and very rewarding! They are full of energy and love to have a job to do. Responsible dog ownership involves doing your research and putting in the time and effort to make sure your dog is happy and well taken care of. For example, Australian cattle dogs are great at doing all sorts of activities, but they need to be kept busy. Whether it's training, doing tricks, service or therapy work, herding, or even dock diving, there are so many ways to keep your pup engaged and happy. If you're interested in doing more with your dog, feel free to reach out to chat! And it's not just purebreds – doodle mixes like our pups Flynn and Arlo are also working breeds. Arlo is thriving in service work and loves his job, while Flynn is training for therapy work and is eager to learn. It's all about finding the right job for your furry friend and watching them thrive!

You know the dogs had a great day when the dogs are so exhausted from playing that they head to bed before you? 😂 Today was such a beautiful day, so we spent a lot of time outside playing and enjoying the sunshine. We even got to relax on the hammock and soak up some rays. The dogs had a blast running around, wrestling, and playing tag. They could go all day long, and it's always so much fun to watch them having a great time!.
