Ms Monroe lol such a sweet baby love her bunches, when she first started coming in it took 3 of us just to do her nails and dry her and get her in the tub lol now just takes me and she just lays there while I work on her lol

Last week I had the privilege of helping out with 2 fur babies who were rescued from a bad situation,white one is about 17 years old named pepper and the brown one is named coco and is about 3 , both were severely matted/pelted and coated in urine on the back ends due to the mats, there guessing it's been about 3 years since the white one has been groomed,and this was cocoas first ever groom and considering her condition she was nervous but very brave for the whole thing..

Had to brag on this cutie....He's always been a nervous guy for grooming so I always just focus on getting him as nice as I can before he starts stressing to much and i have to let him off the table....This groom was the first time I got his face as nice as I did, yes I know its still not exactly perfect but I absolutely love when a dog shows there starting to trust me and are no longer stressing and resisting when I'm working on certain areas and just stand there comfortably on the table while I do what I need to do...Moment like this will always be more important to me then achieving that perfect haircut on a dog with anxiety or is nervous, I love being able to help build up a dogs confidence so they can come in and have a positive groom experience....

Due to some health issues I will only be grooming 4 days a week for now instead of 6-7 days a week so definitely make sure you either pre-book or try to call a few days before your wanting an appt to ensure you can get in when you want... Also for those who come in every 4-6 weeks,you will save $10 dollars on your appts but you must pre-book in order to get the discount.

Well so far all has gone good with the move, and the fur babies all seem to be happy with the new location lol most of the fur babies I expected to not take the changes good have all seemed even more relaxed here lol I was going to work on renovating the space in January to paint and rip a wall out since this is usually our slower month but I've been busier then expected so that stuff will have to wait lol

I know people are worried about this mystery dog illness, I've had multiple calls in regards to this and multiple people have canceled there grooming appts due to concern about this illness....I work alone so I schedule one on one appts majority of the time anyways so I will just make sure everyone gets a private appt until vets can give us a better idea of what this is and how this is being spread among the dogs, I've always asked that my clients please come pick up there fur baby within 15-30 minutes of my text,so please try to stay within that same time frame of pick up so there's no dogs in my shop when my next client shows up.... and if your dog is coughing or has discharge coming from eyes or nose I ask that you please reschedule until your dog is no longer showing signs of being sick...

Last time he came in we had to go pretty short due to mats,his mom wants to keep him long so he came in for a good deshed an brush out with a light trim to even a few areas up while hes in the grow out phase lol...Such a sweet boy can't wait to see him again in December

This photo helps explain better how long nails can effect how a dog walks and why its super important to keep those nails short.... This is why when your dog comes in to me with super long nails,I cut away as much as i safely can during that appt,and then ask them to come back again in within 1-2 weeks at no charge so I can cut more length off the nails after the vein has had time to shrink....

Had a matted puppy come in other day so had to take everything off and started fresh with new growth ....he still looks adorable even being short lol was definitely a very good puppy for the whole groom !!!!

As some know I stepped on a nail over the weekend,it went all the way through my foot,hit the bone and got pretty infected, so I had to reschedule some appts from over the weekend into this week,but due to the storm the shop will be closed Wednesday, anyone who was rescheduled to come in Wednesday is welcome to come in today....I will wait to see what the storm does before I decide about Thursday.

I had a house guest this weekend so he had to come to work with me on Saturday...He got to hang out and be the "shop helper"...all day he stood at the tub offering "moral support " when dogs got a bath lol

Took a video of Benji and Gracie since he was so scared at first, I usually do this with new dogs when they come in this scared so I can track how much they improve with each visit...I wasn't expecting him to act like he did though, he was looking all around the shop like he was looking for something,he's been here many times already so nothing is new here....I'm pretty sure he was looking for Shannon,he kept going to her table and when I lowered it he jumped on it a few times ....

As some know I record grooming sessions when I'm working with a dog that has grooming anxiety or behavioral issues of any kind,I do this for a few reasons but mainly to help show the pet parent how there fur baby responded to me as well as to track progress throughout grooming sessions.I was expecting to really have my work cut out for me today with Ms Sophie,she has pretty bad grooming anxiety and needs to be given a sedative before her grooms and in the past she's still had some issues even while medicated but she seemed to respond really well with me today, she allowed me to handle her without needing to be muzzled, towards the end she did try to bite me twice but nothing major, but she handled her entire groom like a champ, her ears and face weren't perfect today but we were able to end the groom on a positive note and accomplished a full groom in 45 minutes without and issues or her stressing to the point of aggression and that's a huge accomplishment with fur babies who have anxiety like she does!! Can't wait to see how well ms Sophie does at her next appointment,her and Rocky are both sweet babies,I'm very proud of how brave she was today!!!
