The Dog Training Club of St Petersburg will be participating in this year's "Gulfport, Get Rescued" festival in Gulfport, FL on Saturday, February 22nd from 10am - 5pm. Come join in the fun!

AGILITY PRACTICE RUNS! Currently limited to Members with dogs currently competing at Novice or higher and Students in Handling 2 and Higher Classes...

We are offering a LIMITED number of practice runs on Tuesday Afternoons, from 12:30 to 2:30. Each session is $15, andwill be limited to 8 dogs. Each dog will get TWO, 3-Minute runs, during which you can work on whatever you want. You can run the course, or practice specific skills.

12:30 to 1:30 will be with the AFRAME set at 5'0"
1:30 to 2:30 will be with the Aframe at 5'6"

You can sign up at this link, and payment is by cash or check ringside. No Shows will be waitlisted for future practices:

Tuesdays12:30PM to 2:30PM (TWO 1-Hour Sessions) NOTE: 1st Hour will be 5 FT A-Frame, 2nd Hour will be 5'6" AFRAME Channel weaves will be CLOSED We are implementing a TRIAL for independent agility practice - there will be no instruction, but Supervisor will ask those not following the rules, or dogs....

Our first Intro/Advanced Flyball class for 2025 is scheduled to begin on Thursday, January 9th from 7-8pm. All levels are welcome. The class is $110 for 6 weeks. Come join in on the fun!

The Tampa Bay Barkaneers Flyball team is hosting a canned dog food donation drive to benefit Safe Paws Rescue of Pinellas County. They are asking for 12.5 oz cans of dog food (any brand except Old Roy). There is a collection box in the office of the DTCSP or donors can drop off cans on Dec 7th during the Reindeer Run Flyball tournament to receive a complimentary raffle ticket per can donated for one of the many raffle baskets offered at the tournament.

What Happens when you put a bunch of "dog people" together in a room with only human games to play? We can't tell you, because what happens at game night stays at game night!

Sometimes it's NOT about the dogs! Had a blast at our first club game night. Great opportunity to unwind, and get to know each other better. Just purely social fun & food!

Want to know what happened? Only way to find out is to keep an eye out for the next one and jump in when it happens!

Thanks to Tara for organizing this- it's a great idea, and needs to become a regular thing!

Both our agility run throughs and our ACT Event are canceled for this weekend as our members recover from the effects of hurricanes Helene and Milton.

We are happy to report that the club suffered no damage during either storm.

The Dog Training Club of St Pete would like to wish our Tampa Bay Barkaneers Flyball Racing Team the best of luck as they travel to Indianapolis, IN to complete in the North American CanAm Flyball Classic. It will be the team’s first ever appearance at CanAm. Despite the challenges of traveling during mass evacuations, the team is very excited for this competition.

AKC-TV will be live-streaming two of the six competition racing rings. We will post the link to that livestream once it is published so you can tune in and hopefully catch the Barkaneers in action!
