Pet Diabetes Awareness 🐾🩺

Did you know? November is Pet Diabetes Awareness Month! Here are some important facts to keep your furry friends healthy:

🔹 Diabetes in pets is more common than you think, affecting 1 in every 300 dogs and 1 in every 230 cats.
🔹 Symptoms to watch for: increased thirst, frequent urination, weight loss despite a good appetite, and lethargy.
🔹 Early detection is key! With proper management, including insulin therapy, a healthy diet, and regular vet visits, diabetic pets can lead happy lives.
🔹 Pets are more likely to develop diabetes if they’re overweight, older, or have a genetic predisposition.

If you notice any of these signs, schedule a check-up with your vet right away!

📝An Open Letter to Veterinary Practice Managers,

Your job is really hard.

You’re responsible for not only the health of your practice but also the health of your team. You manage spreadsheets and drama between coworkers. You develop SOP‘s and a healthy culture.

You train, you coach, you guide, you believe in people. You make schedules and often work the floor to give your team members time off. You deal with angry clients and angry employees.

You’re responsible for all of this, yet often your team questions what exactly you do with your time. And some of you do all this with very little, if any, management or leadership training.

💙I see you. I see your struggles and your desire to grow into the best leader you can be. I see your deep compassion for the animals, clients, and employees you serve.
