Maria’s love for animals began in Addison, IL, where she gained hands-on experience fostering and working in shelters. While pursuing her degree in Marine Biology at UWF, her life took a wonderful turn when she welcomed Oliver, a Neapolitan Mastiff, into her life. This sparked her passion for dog training and led her to a ReviveK9 apprenticeship under Catey Cuesta.

Maria is also passionate about dog sports like bite sports and scent work, and she has a special interest in training personal protection dogs. Her approach focuses on fulfilling dogs’ biological needs and helping owners build stronger bonds with their pets.

🎆Dog Parent’s Fourth of July Survival Guide🎆

Because let’s be honest… the fireworks aren’t just outside.

🐾 Step 1: Your dog is not being dramatic.
Their ears can hear a bag of chips from 3 rooms away. Imagine what a firework sounds like. Be kind. Be prepared.

🛑 Step 2: Don’t wait until 8:59 pm to realize your dog is terrified.
Start now. Create a calm space. Play white noise. Try a long-lasting chew.
(Hot tip: That crate your dog ignores? It’s about to be their best friend.)

🎧 Step 3: Ditch the playlist. Try a sound desensitization video instead.
Some dogs want Enya. Some want thunderstorms. Some want silence. You’ll find out.

🚫 Step 4: No off-leash walks this week. None.
Dogs bolt when panicked—and July 5th is the busiest day of the year for shelters. Keep them safe. Keep them secure. Keep that ID tag on.

💊 Step 5: If your dog needs calming medication, be prepared and time it accordingly.
There’s no shame in helping them cope. Talk to your vet. Train and medicate—it’s not either/or.

Catey’s passion for helping animals began in Memphis, TN, where her family fostered dogs through the Humane Society. With a Bachelors in Psychology and experience working in animal hospitals, Catey brings a unique approach to training, specializing in reactivity and aggression.

We’re excited to introduce the visionary behind ReviveK9: 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗮 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘇𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗲! As our founder and lead dog trainer, Coreena’s journey is one of passion, dedication, and a love for animals that began on her grandparents’ ranch in Oregon.

Her path took a unique turn during her service in the 𝗨𝗦 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱, where a station mascot reignited her love for working with dogs. This led her to immerse herself in service animal work, pursue professional dog training, and eventually found 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗞𝟵 in St. Pete.
