The 4th of July is coming 🧨. Be sure your pets are chipped and all the contact info is correct. Make sure they have their license and your information on their collars. And definitely SECURE your yards. All these precautions should taken year round.
And most importantly, PLEASE keep your pets INSIDE!! More pets are lost on the 4th than any other time of the year. Just check social media on the 5th and see how many people are distraught because their pet ran away due to fireworks!! 😡

The event will be held in the parking lot of the St. Pete Free Clinic, 863 3rd Ave. N.

This event is limited to Pinellas County residents.

If your dog ever got lost, how would they find their way back to you? Microchipping your pet is one of the best ways to get reunited with your best friend.

Get your dog prepared for the upcoming hurricane season and come to our microchip and vaccine clinic!
** No advance registration is required. Supplies are limited and are first-come, first-served. **

Dogs will receive a microchip; rabies, kennel cough, and DAPPv vaccinations; and one bag of food per party.

The St. Pete Free Clinic will be providing one box of human food per party.

** This event is for DOGS only. Limit 2 dogs at a time.**

Did you know that today is "Every day is tag day"? We must ensure our pets can be easily identified and returned home. Protect your pet by taking following these steps:

🐾 Make sure your pet always wears a collar with a current ID tag, rabies tag, and city/county license.
🐾 Include a contact name, address, and daytime and evening phone numbers on their ID tag.
🐾 Keep your pet’s licenses, ID tag, and microchip current. Make sure to update the tag if you change your address or phone numbers.
🐾 When moving or traveling, place a temporary tag on your pet with the phone number of someone who knows how to reach you.
🐾Remember that even indoor pets need tags. Many strays in shelters are indoor pets who escaped and got lost.

Let's all keep our precious pets safe. And if they get out, they can be easily reunited with their owners. ❤️

Saturday, March 23rd is National Puppy Day!! This day was created by Colleen Paige, an animal advocate and behaviorist to raise awareness of the importance of adoption from shelters and to discourage buying pups from pet stores supplied by puppy mills.

Here are some ways to celebrate:

Play with your puppy!

Adopt a puppy from your local shelter, rescue, or pure-breed rescue organization.

Donate money, food, and toys to your local animal shelter or rescue organization. Check with them to see what they need most and what restrictions they may have. You also can host a community event to raise money.

Have a puppy party and invite any friends, family, or neighbors with young dogs to come play.

Volunteer at your local shelter to walk or play with a puppy, clean cages, or do anything else they need help with.

If you can't adopt a puppy right now but you can help out temporarily, consider fostering a puppy to help teach them socialization, potty training, and basic commands and free up shelter space for other dogs.

Post pics of your pup online with the hashtag to help raise awareness.

Here are best buds and pet sitting clients, Desmo (black cat) & Gordo. They were adopted from the same rescue at different times. Desmo is missing one eye and blind in the other. He and Gordo took a little while to become “brothers”, but now are very loving towards one another. ❤️🐾
