Smooch came in when her mom noticed that she was walking a little stiff and seemed to be painful. After Dr. Montilla exaimned her, it was determined she was suffering from a pinch nerve. We used electroacupuncture and aquapuncture to help reduce the inflammation and relieve Smooch's pain. She is now on the road of healing.

We had our first BG pumpkin carving/decorating night. We enjoyed delicious food, Halloween music, pumpkin fun and getting to spend time together. We are so lucky to have such an incredible team and work family. We look forward to many more of these celebrations together🎃🎃

Ellie is getting some love and butt scratches from Emma before she gets prepped for surgery. She came in for a laparoscopic assisted ovarian sparing spay as well as laparoscopic assisted gastropexy.

We had the best visit today with these 12 kittens! They are the most social, loving playful bunch and always willing to stop and pose for a photo. Meg as worked with BG for the past 2 years. She has worked in many areas of veterinary medicine in the past 15 years. She has spent some time in general practice, emergency medicine and neurology. She enjoys specialty medicine the most because of all the interesting cases she gets to work with. Her favorite thing about working with Balanced Genetics is the family like environment we have here. We are so happy that Meg is a part of BG and are very thankful for all her knowledge and commitment to veterinary medicine

Leia came in last week for her planned c section. Dr Montilla and Leia's mom worked closely by monitoring Leia's progesterone and the puppies fetal maturity in order to time the c section appropriately and ensure a healthy and safe delivery.

HAPPY VET TECH WEEK!!

Alyssa has also been with us for over 2 years. She has always had a love for Veterinary Science and has completed her Master's degree in Veterinary Forensics. Having been a veterinary technician for over a decade Aly continues grow in this field along with learning new positions like Inventory Manager. We are so thankful for all the knowledge and hard work that she brings to BG every day.

HAPPY VET TECH WEEK!

Emma has been with us for a little over 2 years after she graduated from South Fork High School with her Veterinary Assistant Certificate. Emma enjoys working with all our patients but has a soft spot for the big dogs. Her favorite part about the job is the connections she makes with our patients and their families. We want to thank Emma for all her hard work and positive attitude. Her and her sidekick, Ziggy, are a wonderful addition to the BG family!

These frozen treats are a great way to stay cool on these fall Florida days

Pumpkin and Apple Frozen Bites
These frozen bites combine pumpkin and apple for a sweet and tangy treat that’s perfect for hot days.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup pumpkin puree
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/4 cup plain yogurt (unsweetened)
Instructions:

Mix Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, applesauce, and yogurt. Stir the ingredients together until they are thoroughly mixed and smooth.
Pour into Molds: Pour the mixture into molds or an ice cube tray, making sure to distribute it evenly.
Freeze: Place the filled molds in the freezer and let them freeze for at least 3 hours, or until solid.
Serve: Pop out the frozen bites and serve them to your dog as a cooling treat. Store any remaining treats in the freezer.
