It is with great sadness that we have to say goodbye….
We should have said goodbye in Sept., but we re-signed our lease, holding out hope that the busy season would be amazing, and that more people would shop local, plus, we just didn’t want to quit. However, , sadly, we were proven wrong…..and then there was Helene and Milton. 😞🌀
We’re surrounded by thousands of people and their pets in high rises, and should be jamming, but the “busy” season that all small businesses desperately need (especially after a record slow summer) didn’t deliver. Our sales are down considerably and it is with heavy hearts, that after a little more than 5 years, plus surviving Covid, we have to close our store.
It’s frustrating and sad……Amazon, Chewy, Barkbox, Farmers’s Dog, etc., etc……we can provide comparable prices, better products, superior service and same day delivery, but we can’t compete with the apathy of many consumers to shop local. We have hundreds of amazing regulars, (unfortunately not enough of you) who have supported us over the years, and we THANK YOU, and will miss you. 😞 Final day for the store is Jan 31st.

P.S. The Grooming Salon will remain OPEN!! 🐾👍

People are spending upwards of $5,000+ for puppies they don’t realize are sick. The puppies are “certified healthy” by Petland; some end up dead shortly thereafter. Other puppies from Petland have been known to carry the germ campylobacter that can make people sick.

No responsible breeder sells their puppies to a retail stores like Petland or Sunshine Puppies. The puppies do come from - large-scale commercial breeding operations where profit is placed above the well-being of the dogs.

Veterans Day is a time for us to pay our respects to those who have served. 🇺🇸
I would like to share this moment to honor those in my family who wore the uniform. Thank you, my paternal Grandfather- Wm Taylor, Marine Corp.. WW2, Korea....my Dad, Michael J Taylor, Navy- intelligence,Vietnam, my brother, Michael J Taylor, Officer in the Air Force, served and fought in Iraq, Afghanistan, and my brother/in-law, James(Hondo) Haldeman, served in the Marine Corp in many capacities, a fighter pilot and also served in Iraq. Thank you to my family members, friends, and all who have served, including our non-human friends. 🇺🇸❤️🐦🐴🐶

This is Jax. Yesterday we rescued him from a St. Pete neighbor in need of help.

He is about 2 years old and sweet and gentle but needs food, love and vet care. I am taking him to the vet today and will pay for any care he needs, but unfortunately cannot keep him in our family as we have a dog who is aggressive to other males.

Can you help share this post to find him the right home or foster parent? I’m committed to giving him the best possible future 🙏🏼
