PSA ❗️❗️❗️ We are seeing an influx of parvo virus cases! Please make sure your pets are protected.
Canine parvovirus is highly contagious and is spread by direct dog to dog contact and contact with contaminated environment! Most deaths from parvovirus occur within 48-72 hours following the onset of clinical signs. Clinical signs include lethargy, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea. If your puppy or dog shows any of these signs, you should contact your veterinarian immediately! Vaccinating your dog can reduce the number of dogs in the area that could become infected and spread the disease. That means Vaccinating your dog can protect both your dog and other dogs in your community! Ask us about our wellness plans to help get your pets preventative care! 🐾💉

Meet Melanie!

Melanie, who is better known as Mel, is from Orlando, Florida. She started her career in the veterinary industry in 2020. She chooses to work in veterinary medicine because she has always loved animals. At work, she loves to be with the animals and helping educate the pet parents about the care that comes with owning a pet. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and her fur-babies. Sara has been with CHAH for 3 years. She started her career in animal care back in 2014. Her love for animals is what moved her to choose this as a career path. Her goal is to help animals and their owners have the best life together. Sara enjoys spending time with her son, her 2 cats, doing her nails, exploring nature, visiting different parks and zoos, and occasionally going to Disney World! We just love the vibe that Sara brings! 🐾🩺❤️

Meet Brooke!

Brooke has always had a compassion for animals! She began her career in veterinary medicine in 2013. Brooke enjoys handling the animals and seeing all of their different personalities. She also has a passion for interacting with pet parents and being able to educate them on their pets wellness and preventative needs. Brooke has one of the biggest hearts and will go above and beyond for anyone and their fur baby! In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, horse back riding, vacations at the beach and of course loving on all of her fur babies 🐾🩺❤️

Meet Madison!

Madison joined the CHAH family in March 2024 and has been an amazing addition! Ever since she can remember she has wanted to work with and take care of animals. At the age of 18, she started working as a kennel technician and worked her way up in the field to a vet tech while attending college. Madison loves being a vet tech so that she can constantly gain knowledge about new medicine and new methods to help animals. Outside of work she enjoys art, games and exploring nature. Madison hopes to continue to grow in this career and learn more everyday! 🐾🩺❤️

We are so grateful for our dedicated staff for all that they do! This week we will be putting the spotlight on some of our staff for you to get to know us better!

Meet Michael! Michael aka Mike as been with Caring Hands Animal Hospital since 2020. Although he is experienced in all aspects of general practice, his real passion is for dental health. He is our go to guy for treating your fur babies teeth whether it be a routine cleaning or a more advanced dental with extractions. Please prepare for tropical storm force winds and rain in our area that may likely bring power outages.
At this time both Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Live Oak and Caring Hands Animal Hospital in Lake City will be open tomorrow. We will be closed on Thursday (10/10) at both locations.
This is subject to change pending changes to the storm path or power outages we may experience.

To our clients:
We hope everyone stayed safe through the storm. Our Lake City location is open and running normal business hours this week. Our Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Live Oak sustained damage to the building and will be closed until further notice. If you are a Live Oak client and need medications, food, or an appointment, please call our Lake City office at (386) 752-8899.

Due to the impending storm, Caring Hands Animal Hospital will be closed in both Lake City and Live Oak from Thursday 09/26 to Sunday 09/29. Our goal is to safely open on Monday morning 09/30 at normal operating hours. We will post updates about both locations on Sunday.
Our Lake City office will be closing tomorrow 09/25 at 4 pm and our Live Oak location will be closing at 3 pm to allow our staff and clients to safely return home and prepare.
Please know we take the health and safety of your pets very seriously and we believe the safest course of action is closing during this time. If your pet has an emergency, UF Small Animal Hospital ER advised us they will remain open for emergent needs. They can be contacted at (352) 392-2235.
