Hi! Happy Small Business Saturday!

Just wanted to take a moment to say if you’ve ever shopped with us, said hello at a market, attended a workshop, or been part of our journey in any way, thank you for the opportunity. This is our 8th Small Business Saturday, and it is never lost on me what an honor it is to get to work with plants and meet the most wonderful people every day.

The shop is open today from 10 to 5. We are offering 15% off all plants and giving away a free Wild Roots shirts if you spend over $75.

Dear Wild Roots friends and family,

I put off making this post as long as possible, but I’ve made the difficult decision to reach out for help. The loss of revenue we’ve sustained over the past weeks due to Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton has hit our small business hard. Of course this is to be expected considering the amount of destruction our community is recovering from. I’m heartbroken knowing all of the hardships folks in our area are facing.

The reality is a lot of local businesses were struggling before these back-to-back hurricanes. Summer is our slow season, and this one was the slowest we’ve had in years. We tough it out counting on business to pick back up in the fall, but this October has been extremely difficult. Sales have plummeted. Workshops, markets and private events have been canceled. I was hopeful when we were able to reopen quickly after a week of being closed for Milton, but we’ve had very few sales since reopening. I’m now scrambling to figure out how to pay rent, upcoming bills, and staff payroll.

I know plants may be low on everyone’s list of priorities right now, but Wild Roots has been a solid part of the St. Pete community for over 7 years. This shop has provided a happy space for numerous weddings, creative workshops, fundraisers, yoga classes, concerts, markets, and so much more. My only wish is to be able to keep it going so everyone can enjoy it again when things are better.

If you are able to help, here are some ways you can support us:

1. Buy something at the shop.
2. Purchase a gift card.
3. Hire us for services. We offer in-home plant doctor visits as well as residential and commercial interior plantscaping design services.
4. Book an event. Our event space is available to rent for weddings, baby showers, bridal showers, photoshoots, and more. We have immediate availability for anyone affected by the hurricanes.
5. Have a plant delivered to brighten someone’s day.
6. Sign up for a workshop.
7. Donate to our GoFundMe (link in bio)

Please check in with and support all of our local businesses as much as possible during this trying time. Thank you for reading, and we are open daily if you need a place to recharge.
