Tips to Comfort & Protect Your Pets 🐶😺 during New Year’s Celebrations! 🎉

We hope our Island Life pet families have a wonderful and safe New Year! With celebrations, pets can become stressed from the sound of fireworks or may just need some extra comfort. 💗

How Can You Help Reduce Stress For Your Pets on New Year’s Eve?

✅ Keep pets indoors and in a safe and comforting place away from loud noises.

✅ Ensure you have calming medications for pets who experience stress and anxiety due to fireworks and loud noises.

✅ Pet Identification is key to help reunite lost pets who may escape when stressed. Make sure your pet has a collar with a Pet ID tag and is also microchipped.

✅ If away during fireworks festivities, play music or leave the TV on for pets who are at home.

Our office will be closed on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, January 1st, yet will reopen on Thursday, January 2nd at 8:00 am.

As our team members share time with their pet families and friends for New Year’s, please make note of our modified ours on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

Before we close early on New Year’s Eve, December 31st, please schedule requests for prescription refills and pet food for pickup before 12:00 noon.

Announcement! 🐶🐾😺 We’re closing early today, Friday, Dec. 27th, at 4:30 PM.

We appreciate your understanding with this change in our schedule.

Please call our office before 4:30 PM today to schedule appointments or request prescription refills for your pets for pickup next Monday and Tuesday (by 1:00 PM) before the New Year’s holiday!

If you have a pet emergency outside of our operating hours, please refer to your preferred animal ER or call our office for a list of recommended animal emergency providers in our local area at 727-289-3776.

Santa Arrived Early at Island Life Animal Hospital with Holiday Cheer!

We had a pawsitively magical time celebrating this year’s Client Appreciation Holiday Event! Over 60 amazing pets joined us to pose with Santa Claus and make memories to treasure. From festive outfits to wagging tails and curious whiskers, your pets made this event truly special!

A huge THANK YOU to all of our wonderful clients who brought their beloved pets to share in the holiday spirit. We loved seeing you all and celebrating the season together.

And of course, a special shoutout to Vet Tech Nick, who did an incredible job greeting each pet with warmth and holiday cheer—and for stepping into the boots of our beloved Santa Claus! 🎅🐕🐈

Part 1: Thank You for an Amazing Day! 🎉🐾🎄
We had a wonderful turnout for our Client Appreciation Holiday Event and it’s all thanks to our wonderful pet community!

Santa was very busy greeting so many pet families! We would like to thank all who supported the event with a special thank you to Boehringer Ingelheim who sponsored our food truck and raffle baskets.

What great fun with a delicious lunch provided by Dochos Latin Bistro. Our pet basket raffles raised $290 for Tampa Bay Watch and over 60 pet portraits were taken with Santa.

A huge thank you to our amazing team for makung this event so incredibleI We thank Sarah, our Practice Manager, for meticulously working out so many details that made this day so special.

Patient Profile: Meet One Curious Cat 😺💗🐾
Playful Gnocchi, an inquisitive, 4 1/2 month-old adventurer, recently had a bit of excitement when a fishhook became stuck in his paw. Thankfully, his owner was able to safely remove it before bringing him to Island Life Animal Hospital.

After being evaluated, Gnocchi is doing great and even got his vaccines updated during his visit.

What a sweet patient! 🐈 And, Gnocchi is as handsome as he is brave.

What an Incredible Event Shared with You!🎄
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support the Tree Lighting Celebration of Tierra Verde, a great community cause benefitting the Lealman Toy Fund! Your generosity and holiday spirit truly made the event special.

We’re thrilled to share that we also raised $156 at the Island Life Animal Hospital table to support Tampa Bay Watch and their incredible work for our local environment!

The evening was filled with joy, laughter, and festive fun, especially during the pet parade—we loved seeing all of your adorable pets dressed up and spreading holiday cheer.

The Tierra Verde Tree Lighting Event is

4:00 pm Event Begins! Musical entertainment by Gale Trippsmith.

5:00 pm Santa Arrives! Come have your family picture taken in the gazebo. Free gifts for kids from Santa - while supplies last.

5:30 pm Holiday Pet Parade! Participating fur babies receive a free gift while supplies last!

6:00 pm Lighting of the Christmas Tree!

6:30 pm Raffle Winners Announced!

7:00 pm More musical entertainment.

Also enjoy FREE face painting, balloon creations, jump houses, games, and a visit by Raymond--RAYS UP!

A HUGE congratulations to Nick on his acceptance to Vet School in 2025. 🥳🐾🎉 Dr. Kari Schultz made sure Nick was still standing after hearing the incredible news!

What a wonderful moment as we celebrate Nick’s achievement! As a Veterinary Technician working at Island Life Animal Hospital as well as many years of experience in animal emergency medicine, we couldn’t be more proud of Nick’s hard work and dedication.

We can’t wait to watch Nick go on to achieve many more amazing things in his veterinary career. Way to go, Nick!
