🐾VET TECH WEEK 2025 (October 12th-18th)🐾

This week, we're pulling out all the stops to celebrate the incredible humans behind the scrubs. It takes a rare kind of person to be a veterinary technician. They can draw blood from a wiggly kitten, comfort a grieving pet owner, monitor anesthesia, assist in surgery, clean up messes that defy explanation, and somehow remember every patient's name. They're scientists, caregivers, communicators, and multitaskers extraordinaire... often all within the same five minutes. Their days are equal parts chaos and compassion, skill and selflessness. They show up every single day with steady hands and full hearts, giving everything they have to the animals that depend on them.

THANK YOU for being the backbone of SAH. You make this profession shine, and our hospital wouldn't be the same without your skill, your laughter, and your endless love for the animals (and each other).

This sweet senior girl stole the show at her visit today. She came strutting in like a little fashion icon in her dress and hair bow.

At Skyway Animal Hospital, we LOVE our senior patients. With their wise eyes, gentle spirits, and years of loyalty, they deserve the very best. That's why we tailor every visit with extra care. We use restraint techniques that are kind on old bones, creating a calm environment, and giving them all the time they need to feel comfortable.

Thank you to Gidget (and her loving mama!) for brightening our day and reminding us why caring for seniors is such a privilege.

Birthday twins? More like birthday LEGENDS! 🎉

Dr. Jones and his pup Cricket share the same birthday, and while we had cake, Cricket strutted her stuff in a birthday girl bandanna and munched on gourmet doggie treats. 🐕✨
Clearly, she’s the star of this paw-ty!

Please help us wish our favorite duo a very Happy Birthday. Dr. Jones, thank you for all that you do for SAH and our patients. You’ve had a veterinary career so luminous, it could rival a constellation. We are lucky to have your wisdom and mentorship. We are happy to keep you on your toes and off of the golf course 😅😂

maybe you've seen her at the "Tampa Bay Ween Club!"

Emily and her two dachshunds joined in on the fun at the Tampa Bay Ween Club meetup this past weekend, and WOW, what a turnout! Our team loves representing SAH in the community and we love seeing it, especially when it involves so many adorable Doxies!

🐾🎣 Meet Captain Osa, the Fishing Dog!

Osa is a lady of the sea. She is one of our Skyway Animal Hospital patients, and she invited us along for a day in the life. 🌊🐕

Every weekend, Osa heads offshore with her dad, proving she’s as salty as any seasoned captain. From sunrise to sunset smiles, she’s living her best St. Pete boat life in her life jacket.

At SAH, we’re more than just thermometers and vaccines. We treasure the bonds we share with our patients and their families. Being part of this community means celebrating all the adventures our furry friends take us on.

Thanks, Captain Osa, for taking Dr. Jones and Krista offshore and reminding us why we love what we do. Stay out of the bait well, you silly girl!

⭐️🌴BIG NEWS Skyway Family!!! 🌴⭐️

We are so excited to officially welcome Dr. Shannon Dalene, DVM (pronounced Da-Lane) to the Skyway Animal Hospital Team!

🎉🐾🎉🐾🎉🐾🎉🐾🎉🐾🎉🐾🎉🐾🎉

Originally a Texas girl, Dr. Dalene made her way through Mississippi State for undergrad, earned her DVM from Long Island University in 2024, and completed a residency at Blue Pearl Animal ER. While she has a passion for emergency medicine, she's really looking forward to bringing that knowledge to general practice, where she can build lasting relationships with patients (and their humans!).

At home, Dr. Dalene is a proud pet mom to Riley (the gorgeous shepherd/lab mix pictured 🐕🩷), plus two cats, Gremlin and Grouch 🐈🐈. When she's not caring for animals, you'll probably find her running (She's training for a marathon), flowing through yoga poses, or checking out St. Pete's local craft beer scene.

Please help us give Dr. Dalene the warmest St. Pete welcome!!!
She can't wait to meet you and your pets. 🐾
