March is National Pet Poison Prevention Month 🐾
Although March is coming to a close, it's always important to be reminded of common toxins your pets may be exposed to in order to keep them healthy and safe. Over the counter medications, human prescriptions, certain foods and plants are all common toxins for dogs and cats. It's very important to call your vet immediately if you think your pet has been exposed to anything poisonous.
Your dog or cat may think those grapes or piece of chocolate is tasty, but they'll learn their lesson when they end up at the vet! 🐾

Our pharmacy policies are changing. Pet Pal Veterinary Clinic will no longer honor online pharmacy requests. We will provide you with a written prescription and you will be responsible for contacting your preferred pharmacy. You will need to work with your online pharmacy to ensure that all your medications through them are kept up to date. We have made this decision due to the high volume we receive through online pharmacies and the amount of time it takes us to process each request.

Please consider using our in-house pharmacy. This clinic is vital in supporting our shelter animals as they await their forever homes. Not only does this clinic provide medical services for the animals but financial support. Buying your medications from us helps to provide much needed revenue for our shelter.

We regret to announce that the Pet Pal Thrift Store will be closing its doors on January 31st. It has been a difficult decision to make, but we feel it is the correct decision. We are no longer able to accept thrift store donations at the shelter or the store, but we hope that you will continue to bring your pet related donations to the shelter. Our hearts are full of gratitude for your support over the years. Please follow the Thrift Store page for updates on clearance sales as our closing day approaches.

Thank you, Steve and Pat McCarthy of Dawgs Dig It and Dorene Thomas of Fetch Pet Care. Not only did they provide us with AED’s at all 3 locations, but they brought in Alan Shedler to educate our staff in CPR and their proper use. We had a great time, and learned so much! What a great way to bring us all together!!

It's Lost Pet Prevention Month!

Microchip your pet.
Scan a found animal at any local Veterinary Office for a microchip.
Post a found animal on Lost and Found Pets of Pinellas County.
Keep your microchip information up to date.
For fearful or hyper pets, we recommend a martingale (escape proof) collar.
Get an ID Tag for your pets collar with your phone number and address on it.
