Onsite Farmers Market and hydroponic, indoor city farm that grows leafy greens and herbs year-round in highly technology based, climate controlled environments. The Brick Street Farms’ shipping containers are outfitted in t

Chlorophyll isn’t just plant blood (though chemically, it’s remarkably similar to human hemoglobin). This molecular masterpiece is a powerhouse of health benefits 🥬💚🧪

Next-Level Detox: Chlorophyll binds to potential carcinogens, helping your body es**rt them out before they cause trouble. It’s like having a molecular bouncer for your cells. Research shows it’s particularly effective at binding to heterocyclic amines – those potentially harmful compounds formed when you grill meat at high temperatures.

Blood Builder: The magnesium-rich chlorophyll molecule supports healthy red blood cell formation. Your bone marrow actually digs this stuff. Studies indicate chlorophyll can increase hemoglobin concentration, helping your blood carry oxygen more efficiently throughout your body.

Gut Guardian: Studies show chlorophyll promotes beneficial bacterial growth in your digestive tract. Plus, it helps reduce inflammation – your gut’s worst enemy. The molecule’s unique structure helps maintain the integrity of your intestinal wall, potentially reducing “leaky gut” symptoms.

Wound Healing Hero: Chlorophyll has shown remarkable abilities in accelerating wound healing. It works by increasing the production of specialized cells called fibroblasts, which are crucial for tissue repair and regeneration.

Antioxidant Amplifier: Beyond its own antioxidant properties, chlorophyll enhances your body’s production of glutathione – often called the “master antioxidant.” This helps combat oxidative stress and supports your body’s natural aging defense systems.

pH Balance Master: Chlorophyll helps alkalinize your body, potentially offsetting the acidic effects of modern processed foods. This pH-balancing act supports enzyme function and helps maintain optimal cellular health.

Remember: A serving of dark leafy greens daily isn’t just healthy eating – it’s accessing billions of years of plant evolution to power your modern life. Pretty cool, right?

One thing about me, is I eat a salad every night 🥗
Alicia here, and I wanted to show you my last ten dinners! 📸🍽️
I love to eat large plates of nutrient dense food every evening. I’ve noticed that this one habit has made a huge difference in my energy levels, body composition, and overall health. I was a BSF customer long before I stepped into the marketing role, and I’ve been eating piles of hydroponic greens daily for the past 4 years. Eating “healthy” can be daunting, but when in doubt, fill half of your plate with some delicious greens, drizzle on some olive oil and salt, and top it off with with some fruit and cheese, and fill the rest of your plate with your favorite protein and veggies.

Not having to rinse my greens, and buying greens that last longer in the fridge, make this dinner tradition extremely easy 🥬

Ever wonder what gives our Red Leaf lettuce those red hues? 🍃❤️ The deep reds come from anthocyanins, powerful antioxidants that give this lettuce its eye-catching color. These pigments are produced in response to environmental factors like UV light and cooler temperatures. But it’s not just about looks – these anthocyanins pack a nutritional punch too! They contribute to the lettuce’s health benefits, making each bite as good for you as it is beautiful. Grown with care in our hydroponic farm, our red leaf lettuce is a feast for both your eyes and your body.

We would like to have a word with whoever decided to put Helene, Milton, halloween, daylight savings, and the election so close together...

All we can do is keep moving forward. Speaking of moving forward, let's chat about greens, shall we? You might have noticed that a lot of our bestsellers have been out of stock. Unfortunately, we lost quite a bit of harvesting hours due to Milton, which means less greens on our shelves.

After a few weeks of playing catch up, most of our customer favorites are back. You can now order the greens you've been missing, like Crunch Love and Romaine, on our website.

Thank you for your patience, we're almost back to our regular scheduled programing! We truly appreciate your support, especially as we emerge from these hurricane season set backs.

Happy munching and crunching! 🥬🌿💚

A bread salad isn't just a salad with bread thrown in - it's a bread salad that's enhanced by vegetables. While many folks think of Tuscan panzanella when they hear "bread salad," these hearty dishes pop up all over the Mediterranean, each region making it their own. Our St. Pete version celebrates two local favorites: Our beautifully tender Rainbow Swiss Chard and Sunshine Sourdough's Asiago loaf.
🍞🌈🥬 Let's make this colorful, savory, sweet, chewy & crunchy "bread salad"

Ingredients:
- 2-3 slices of Sunshine Sourdough Asiago bread, torn into rustic chunks (don't be shy - bread's the star here!)
- 1 bunch Brick Street Farms rainbow Swiss chard, stems separated and chopped, and leaves torn
- 1/3 cup olive oil (plus extra for toasting bread)
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 shallot, thinly sliced
- 1/3 cup toasted pecans, roughly chopped (optional)
- 1/4 cup crumbled goat cheese
- Sliced pear or apple
- Salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste

Toss those torn sourdough bread chunks with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toast at 375°F until golden-edged but still chewy inside, about 8-12 minutes.

While the bread's doing its thing, chop those colorful chard stems and tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces.

Whisk together olive oil, maple syrup, and apple cider vinegar to make a fall vinaigrette.

In a large bowl, combine the warm bread (yes, warm!), chard, shallots, and pecans. Pour that vinaigrette all over and toss gently.

Finish with crumbled goat cheese and serve while the bread's still got some warmth to it.

This salad is our local spin on a Mediterranean classic - where bread isn't just a garnish, but the heart of the dish. It's rustic, comforting, and just what these early fall evenings call for!

Don't let their size fool you - micro broccoli packs a serious nutritional punch 🌱These miniature greens can contain up to 40 times more nutrients than their full-grown counterparts. Here's what makes them special:

🌱Sulforaphane Superstar: This compound, found in high concentrations in micro broccoli, has been linked to cancer prevention, reduced inflammation, and improved heart health!
🌱Vitamin Bonanza: They're loaded with vitamins A, B, C, E, and K.
🌱Mineral Rich: Excellent source of calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, and zinc.
🌱And the best part? All this goodness comes in a crisp, delicate package that's a delight to eat.

🐶Good news for our furry friends - micro broccoli is generally safe for dogs when given in moderation. It's a great way to boost your pet's nutrient intake, but as always, check with your vet before making any major changes to their diet.

Here are some simple ideas to incorporate these magical micros into your meals:
🍳Top your morning eggs or avocado toast
🥪Add to sandwiches and wraps for a nutrient boost
🧋Blend into smoothies (pro tip: freeze for later use!)
🍕Garnish soups and pizzas for a fresh touch
🍝Mix into pesto for a nutrient-packed pasta sauce
🥗Add them to your salads!
🍲Trow a big hand full on your leftovers and drizzle with salt and olive oil!

Remember, our micro broccoli is:
💧Grown hydroponically in upcycled shipping containers
📍Hyper-local and sustainable
❌Pesticide-free
🍴No need to wash - it's ready to eat straight from the package!

By choosing Brick Street Farm's micro broccoli, you're not just making a healthy choice - you're supporting local, sustainable agriculture. It's a win-win!

We understand that many of you are in hurricane preparation mode, and our hearts go out to those already affected by Helene who now face the daunting task of preparing for another potentially dangerous storm.

Please know that our thoughts are with you during this challenging time. We urge everyone to prioritize safety and take all necessary precautions. As fellow members of this community, we too are securing our farm against potential impact. We'll provide updates to our followers once the hurricane has passed. Our fantastic St. Pete community is in our thoughts. Please stay safe, and take care of yourselves and each other.

Please note, Brick Street Farms will be closed starting at 3pm on Tuesday as well as Wednesday. As of now, we plan to open again on Thursday, but we will finalize our decision after the storm 💕

Fattoush is a popular Levantine salad with roots in Middle Eastern cuisine, particularly Lebanon and Syria. Its name comes from the Arabic word “fatt,” meaning “crush” or “crumble,” referring to the broken pita bread that gives the salad its signature crunch.

This dish was born from resourcefulness, using stale bread that might otherwise go to waste. It’s traditionally enjoyed in summer when fresh vegetables are plentiful.

Our Brick Street Farms version puts a local spin on this time-honored dish, blending Middle Eastern tradition with our farm-fresh St. Pete greens 🥗🥬

Ingredients:
- Brick Street Farms Romaine
- Brick Street Farms chopped Micro Dill
- Parsley
- Radicchio
- Red Onion
- Cucumber
- Chickpeas
- Tomatoes
- Pita chips or toasted pita bread
- Olive Oil
- Balsamic
- Fresh lemon
- Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper

Chop all of the ingredients and toss in a big bowl! Enjoy.
