My name is Jaime Bunny McKnight, I am a huge animal lover, animal activist, pet sitter and proud parent to very spoiled rescues. This is my non-profit animal rescue founded February 1, 2013 with the goal to change the face of rescue by making it brighter, promoting team work among other local rescues, helping the public by educating and guiding them to make the right choice and putting them in con

PPPR has the long term goal and dream to one day open a true NO Kill shelter that will cater to the sick, handicap and seniors!! My shelter will change the face of rescue furever as it will be Pawlicious! My future no kill animal shelter will be pink, bright, cheerful, resort like for the abandoned and will not look like a jail as all shelters do today! PPPR accepts surrendered, abandoned and injured animals for rehab and re-homing. PPPR specializes in seniors, handicap, sick and small breed dogs. PPPR also rescues dogs from local shelters that are scheduled to be euthanized. If PPPR can not take a dog/cat into rescue I will do my best to help network and help find a potential adopter and new furever home. PPPR also rescues dogs that are lost locally and helps return them safely to their owners. PPPR has successfully reunited many lost dogs and cats locally to their very thankful owners! KENNY💕 he’s back at the ranch snuggled in. I’ve got to get the meds in him, keep him eating and he needs to rest to kick this bout with aspiration pneumonia. At the clinic checking on KENNY, he was hospitalized yesterday for pneumonia 🥹 He did well night and getting two different iv meds to fight the infection. Well we hit a major bump in the road 😢 KENNY has pneumonia and has been hospitalized. He’s not happy about being hospitalized and this wasn’t the first Christmas 🎄 I had planned for Kenny. He’s in the best hands with Dr.Oldanie at the helm and all the nurses are babying him🥹 These severe neglect cases are tough especially in old dogs. But he’s getting the best care available and I’ve been so on top of every blink Kenny makes that this was caught super quick. She has bounced back from her extreme dental surgery last week repairing her damaged mouth costing the rescue over $1500 just for dental surgery. That’s how bad her mouth was . A critical case like KENNY hits hard with vet bills because it takes allot to get a case like this back on track. His diet set of surgeries cost the rescue over $2700 and close to $400 on arrival after being pulled from shelter. His mouth was probably the worst mouth I’ve seen on this journey and I’ve seen some really horrific ones. Today is a new day and I think KENNY has finally turned the corner from his intense dental surgery and neuter. He is deaf and doesn’t see well but will watch for me after he’s done with potty. His appetite has increased and he loves his magic donuts. He is still on major antibiotics and pain meds and taking with no issue. He’s a little more mobile and a little less disoriented. This morning he gave me some big licks on my cheek 💕 I’m taking this weekend to bull him up and gain his strength And next week we will do his mass surgery. Let’s play catch up since I’m able to catch my breathe for a second after working all weekend and getting Kenny over the hump from his surgery. MAGGIE💕 oh mh goodness what a special little girl she is. Perfect in every way but sadly had a rough life before rescue. She has made it’ through part one of her major surgeries. She lost most of her teeth because they were beyond infected and rotten from neglect. THIS week she will lose her back leg that has been damaged for a long time. X-rays show old severe pelvis break never treated which caused the damage to leg. The only option is amputation so she can walk better. Leg is stuck out which trips her and she can’t walk. That major surgery is Wednesday with DrOldanie. She’s gained some strength so now time to get her through part two. The magic donuts aren’t vet approved but they are PPPR approved and have saved many lives. Dr. Partridge always said when the dogs were super sick “feed them whatever you can get in them” and to put some groceries in them “give ‘em carbs.” The magic donuts always help them gain some weight, gain energy and help them get over the hump. Yesterday was dental surgery of epic proportions for KENNY💕 he’s a little more alert today. Last night I was up with him comforting him and cleaning literal puddles of blood. He did get a neuter too which was needed. Everyone at the clinic loves Kenny. This Gentle Giant has touched the hearts of many wondering the same thing, how could anyone abuse and neglect an innocent life so blatantly? He is truly one of the saddest cases to land here and those that have followed PPPR over the years I’ve rescued many that survived unimaginable abuse and neglect and some that didn’t survive. Kenny already looks for me and finds comfort when I’m near. He panicked when I dropped him off yesterday. It’s a very special bond between the rescuer and the rescued. More rest for this big boy, more meds, more calories. Taking one day at a time. He’s already come so far after leaving the kill shelter 2 days ago. Thanks to all sharing Kenny’s story. Was a long long surgery for Kenny. He just woke up about hour ago after surgery wrapped. Huge thanks to Dr.Oldanie for moving things around so he didn’t have to suffer one more second with his painful and infected mouth. Big thanks to Dr.C for helping carry him to my car 💕I’ll spare you all the gruesome pics but his mouth was an absolute wreck. He lost most of his teeth and had a gaping oral nasal fistula. He’s got a fentanyl patch on for pain and is wrapped up in a comforter here at the ranch. Tomorrow will be a new day for this gentle giant that has endured years of pure hell before being rescued. Today was huge for him and now the healing begins. Once he gains some strength and bounces back from today the next part will be to remove the mass on his head. Not even 24 hours after being rescued and he’s already received years of vet care he should have always had. His story is what nightmares are made of and it’s just truly heartbreaking. KENNY💕 he’s already come so far from leaving the kill shelter today. The nurses at my clinic scrubbed all the caked on f***s off him and his fur is so shiny and fresh! He started deworming. He got an injection for arthritis. Tomorrow part one of his surgeries happens! Dr.Oldanie is doing his major dental surgery to address his painful infected mouth. Neuter tomorrow to address his prostrate issues. Next week will be the mass removal. Everyone at clinic today took such good care of him and Kenny felt all the 💕 love! KENNY💕 there truly are no words to even begin to describe the literal hell this sweet old boy has endured for a lifetime before being thrown away in a field to die. He landed at animal control and I just saved him because no one else would step up. I wasn’t going to let him suffer one more second or die in the shelter. I rushed him to my clinic this morning and he’s there now with Dr.Oldanie. The sweet nurses were bathing him when I left because he was covered in literal caked on f***s. He has a huge mass on his head. He’s having prostate issues due to not being neutered. His teeth are absolutely wrecked. His overall appearance left everyone at clinic gasping in horror thinking about the hell this poor dog has endured. But Like I always do for every life that lands here heaven and earth will be moved for him and whatever he needs he will get in attempt to make him whole and pain free. FINNLEY💕 wasn’t feeling to good today so we went to clinic to see Dr.Oldanie and for an injection for his upset tummy and some fluids. He hasn’t put any weight on his repaired front legs yet. MAGGIE💕 this absolute sweetie pie of a little girl landed here yesterday. She’s lived a hard life. Her pelvis was broken at one time and healed badly causing leg to pop out of socket and that hip socket to be non existent. She has trouble walking and falls because the leg is stuck straight out. No way to repair it has to be amputated. But today we are going to fix her mouth full of infection. She will likely lose most of her teeth. Have to get her through this first hurdle then once stronger will address her leg. A very expensive case but this little soul deserves all the care to feel better. Yesterday was dental surgery of epic proportions for KENNY💕 he’s a little more alert today. Last night I was up with him comforting him and cleaning literal puddles of blood. He did get a neuter too which was needed. Everyone at the clinic loves Kenny. This Gentle Giant has touched the hearts of many wondering the same thing, how could anyone abuse and neglect an innocent life so blatantly? He is truly one of the saddest cases to land here and those that have followed PPPR over the years I’ve rescued many that survived unimaginable abuse and neglect and some that didn’t survive. Kenny already looks for me and finds comfort when I’m near. He panicked when I dropped him off yesterday. It’s a very special bond between the rescuer and the rescued. Really no words. FINNLEY💕 arrived this am Thanks to the amazing peeps at the local shelter who ensured he landed safely. Both his front legs are severely broken. This is heartbreaking beyond compare. Details still developing. We are going to remove all the bandages because they have been on there so long his armpits are raw and you can smell infection. We are going to take new X-rays. He will get a pain patch and antibiotics. This is a very intense case. This baby is only 4 months old! More details to to come once we get everything off him and get new X-rays. Our morning started out early with feeding and more medications. Lula slept perfect through the night and I finally got some sleep too. Today a new day begins. Yesterday she had major surgery to repair the severely broken jaw she had been suffering with awhile before landing at PPPR. This is one of the saddest cases I’ve rescued. This is our life now for the next 8 weeks to start. I blend up two half cans of recovery food (per doctor) for the day. Throughout the day she gets multiple feedings in her feeding tube along with additional medications for pain and infection. I hold a little bowl by her mouth so she can lick water just for the sensation. Water is put into the feeding tube for hydration. This has to be one of the saddest cases I’ve had. I’ve had some real sad cases. All this damage done by some trash human that adopted her from shelter and well now here is she is with her bottom jaw literally ripped off clean. LULA💕 we both got some sleep last night. Her feeding tube feedings started last night. So far today she’s had two feedings and meds and done well. She FINALLY went pee this morning. With all the chaos of her being dumped and then landing here it was allot for her. The pain is now being perfectly managed and she’s very comfortable. Today she is more mobile. She walked around yard and follows me around the house. She was trying to drink water and I held a tiny bowl to her lips to lick but she obviously is getting fluids through her tube. She has a very long road ahead thanks to the adopters who adopted her from shelter and abused her then dumped her. She’s safe now and it’s one day at a time. LULA💕 finally got her pain under control with lots of fentanyl. A feeding tube was put in today. Her jaw stabilized and wrapped. She will remain like this for 6-8 weeks due to the nature of her injury. The bottom jaw is broken on both side right at the hinges where the bottom jaw meets the top jaw. Horrific. Sad. It’s allot to wrap one’s mind around what she has endured. She’s on anti nausea as well. She will have antibiotics and additional pain meds. Back to the clinic tonight to check on SAMI, JASMINE and MABLE💕 what a day. Everyone has started major antibiotics. About 2 cups of fluid removed from her belly today to help her get a little comfort but still so much fluid. She is resting comfortably. Tomorrow is a big day . She has to have the surgery to remove the majorly infected uterus and additional fluid will be removed. Her prognosis is guarded but have to try to make whole again or at the very least buy some time so she can enjoy being safe, cared for and loved. She is literally beyond sweet. All of the girls that arrived today are beyond sweet, how could have anyone just let them rot away and then fight for their life in a rural kill shelter? BEAN💕 little by little by little she gains strength. You can see in this video how bad her teeth bother her but nothing can be done until her lungs are clear and she’s strong enough for anesthesia. MILDRED💕 Nurse Sami got her out this morning for a little fresh air, stretch of the old legs and some morning sunbeams. If they fight for their second chance, I help them fight. Barely 3 pounds, old, mouth full of infected teeth, blind, she was covered in fleas eating her alive and just simply a sad example of pure neglect. Thrown away like yesterdays trash. Luckily she landed here and now the race to fight all the neglect that’s wreaked havoc on her little body and soul for so long. My name is Jaime Bunny McKnight, I am a one woman show! I am a huge animal lover, animal activist, pet sitter, real estate agent and proud parent to very spoiled rescues: Cats, Dogs and rescue tortoises.
This is my non-profit animal rescue founded February 1, 2013 with the goal to change the face of rescue by making it brighter, promoting team work among other local rescues, helping the public by educating and guiding them to make the right choice and putting them in contact with a rescue that best fits their needs if PPPR is unable to help. PPPR is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization. My mission is to save furry lives, keep them safe and find their furever homes and give these once forgotten seniors and rescues their “Second Chance at Furever!”
PPPR has the long term goal and dream to one day open a true NO Kill shelter that will cater to the sick, handicap and seniors!! My shelter will change the face of rescue furever as it will be Pawlicious! My future no kill animal shelter will be pink, bright, cheerful, resort like for the abandoned and will not look like a jail as all shelters do today!
PPPR accepts surrendered, abandoned and injured animals for rehab and re-homing based on space availability. PPPR specializes in seniors, handicap, sick and small breed dogs 10 pounds and UNDER. PPPR rescues dogs from kill shelters all over Florida that are set to be euthanized. If PPPR can not take a dog/cat into rescue I will do my best to help network and help find a potential adopter and new furever home.
PPPR also rescues dogs that are lost locally and helps return them safely to their owners. PPPR has successfully reunited many lost dogs and cats locally to their very thankful owners!
PPPR rescues over 100 critically ill, handicap, hospice and old dogs a year! I do not use fosters and do everything. I am a one woman show. No volunteers. No corporate funding. No grants.
