UPDATE CRUZ HAS BEEN ADOPTED

Back as a stray on 2-17-24
Poor Cruz! He is such a nice dog! Failed again after being adopted just in November. He is stressed in the kennels. The shelter is full and he will be killed for space. He is a VERY good dog and smarty pants! He knows sit and stay. He is so nice, he breaks our hearts… he has been just tossed around like trash. We were able to leash Cruz without any issues and took him on a walk. He was not reactive towards the other dogs and mildly pulled on the leash. After our walk we hung out in one of the play yards. He let me pet him all over and took treats gently. I didn't have any issues returning him to his kennel.

Urgent Request for Assistance

Cruz A2329723 is a 6 year old neutered male weighing 60 pounds. He is heartworm negative. He arrived in August as a stray. Cruz is deteriorating in the kennel from the stress. Cruz has been observed to be biting the kennel door to the point where he is bleeding. Requesting foster/rescue to get him out of the kennel! He is gentle/dainty and selective in playgroup/

Per Volunteer: Cruz was easy to leash and pulled a bit on the way to the yard. But now, Cruz has discovered his love of water. First I was able to get him to chase a ball into the pool and he splashed around seeming to experience being in water for the first time. Then we went to the garden where he swam for about 15 minutes - until he'd had his fill! He didn't want it to end! Eventually I was able to lure him out and he returned easily to his kennel. He can be slippery when you take him back as he'll try to squeeze back out if given the chance!

Per Volunteer: Cruz was easy to leash and pulled somewhat to get to the yard. Cruz has one thing on his mind - swimming! As soon as we entered the garden, he made a beeline for the pond and swam for at least 10 minutes - this is his heaven! Cruz reluctantly left the pool and we returned to the play yard where he promptly jumped into the pool and enjoyed playing fetch. Cruz is a friendly and affectionate dog who loves his treats (and takes them gently). He is great fun to be around! I was able to easily return Cruz to his kennel and he did react to a couple of the barking dogs along the way.

6-1-24 Marketa is back at the shelter. Her adopters returned her due to allergies.

5-29-24 Adopted

Marketa needs a home!!!! A2363242 beautiful girl!!!!!! This girl came in as a stray. She is so sweet! She is listed as a 5 year old Bulldog mix. She is mixed with love and sweetness we can tell you that much!!!

Adopter is returning due to allergies with the kid in the home. The kid was a 1 year old and the dog was gentle and did not pay too much attention to the child. Adopter states that the dog will pancake when they tried to walk her up or down the steps, making them carry her each time they needed to walk her, and that she did not appear housebroken. Adopters had the dog in a crate a few times and she appears to be comfortable in it. She did not meet any other dogs but she met a cat in the home and she just sniffed the cat and then it ran away. The dog seems unsure what to do with toys and eats food and treats like normal.

She is healthy and HW negative and ready to GO! Let’s find this girl a home. The kennels are so full and hot she waited patiently for her turn for attention and then just kept me right with her for an extended time by her pleading eyes for attention. We LOVE her!!

26-FEB-24 - Interact - 02/25/24 Per volunteer: Marketa was standing at her door when I got to her kennel. I could easily leash her. She did not want to go out of her kennel. She seems fearful of the neighboring dogs when they are barking at her. I lifted her over the threshold of the kennel door and put some pressure on the leash and then she started walking with me. Once we got outside, she relaxed a lot and sniffed around. She is very good on a leash and extremely affectionate. She enjoys pets all over. She also knows how to sit. She was very easy to leash and walk back to her kennel.

12-FEB-24 - Note - Per finder, dog allowed him to lift her up into the truck with no problem. 02/12/24 12:09 At intake, she allowed staff to microchip scan and pet her with a loose wagging tail. She did pull very strong on the leash. She would not take treats but licked at cat food.

She weighs 70 lbs. Please help us find her a home!!

URGENT!!!! This is a kill shelter.!!! Dogs and cats have been killed by mistake at the shelter. Dogs and cats are in danger the moment they enter the building!!!! Director Trebatowski has been proven to hide information. EMAIL right away for all additional information to [email protected] and [email protected]
The county has no application process. The county shelter refuses to supply accurate information to some citizens. All LIVES are in danger!!!!

Shelter evaluations are difficult due to the stressful environment, so the best thing to do is to go meet the dog. We do our very best as volunteers to meet every dog and post them.
