We’ve been out several times today to check on the animals and enjoy the snow. We’re so thankful for the beautiful snow, that all of our animals are doing well, and we praise God for heat! It’s getting really cold out here.

Praise God for new life! Two kids born this morning! Matthew Jack has named them Stubby and Scrambled Eggs.

Welcome Mary to the farm! She was a gift to us on Christmas and she came pregnant. Matthew Jack wanted to name her Joseph, but since she’s a female, we decided on Mary. She’s due any day now.

Don’t think that God doesn’t care about our most trivial, even whimsical, desires! Most people who know me know I love Christmas. Every year I would take a trip to a different Christmas town. I would walk around and think to myself, “I would love to live in a cute little Christmas town like this.” And, now I do! Remember, God sees you and He knows you, and he’s so so good!

We have a new shepherd named Ian. Matthew Jack was excited to find him and named him. “Then as the journey goes each day we’ll have some family fun, remembering to love the King- God’s one and only son!”

Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

The Hebrew word for still is raphah and it means to sink down, relax, let go, cease striving or withdraw. Being still doesn’t mean that we should just be quiet or even still, it means we should stop fighting and trust God.

We’ve had a wonderfully FULL couple of days. Two Thanksgiving dinners with family, wrestling with cousins, building gingerbread houses, helping put up Christmas trees in our little town, and going to hear some beautiful music at the local coffee shop.
It’s SO easy to be thankful for the gift of Matthew Jack De Cecco. It’s easy to be thankful for my precious family, my amazing community, my wonderful church, and all the cherished blessings in my life. But, in this season, the Lord is teaching me to be thankful for so much more. His word teaches us that His will is for us to be thankful in all circumstances. I’m learning to be thankful for the wilderness seasons, the seasons of waiting, the seasons of trials, the seasons of pruning. Gods is faithful and good through every season. I’m thankful for His perfect timing, for His intentional preparation, for His grace to get through hard, heavy, and hectic seasons, and for the open doors that are yet to be seen, for the opportunities being prepared for me. I’m thankful He’s sanctifying me and continuing His work in me. I’m singing, “I wanna be tried by fire, purified. You take whatever you desire. Lord, here’s me life” until it’s true in every fiber of my being.
“Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
