Oh my gosh, look at this handsome boy!!
His name is Seth. He's a German Shepherd mix pup who is around 13 weeks old.

He came home with me tonight and he is being a very good boy.

He's getting along with everyone and playing very good with our little foster Sprite. It only took a few minutes for him to fit right in.

But what I noticed the most is how darn handsome he is. He is a gorgeous puppy. More to come soon. He's going to be, lots of fun!!!

66 years ago Lakia was launched into space.

Laika, ′′Little Barker" but her real name was Kudrjavka, Russian for ′′curly." She was captured on the street, in Moscow.

Half Husky and half Terrier, she was around 3 years old at the time. She was chosen because she was calm, docile and perfectly adaptable to the Sputnik 2 capsule. Equipped for life support (food and water) the mission didn't involve return. For Laika it was a death sentence.

The interior of the satellite was lined and the interior space was wide enough to allow Laika to lie or stand. The internal temperature was set to 15. and a refrigeration system had to protect the animal from excessive thermal surges.

On November 3rd at 2 am Sputnik 2 was launched into space. Laika probably survived for seven hours. But some sources claim that agony was much longer: four days.

Alone, in space.

The satellite returned to atmosphere 5 months later, April 14, 1958, after turning 2.570 laps around Earth. It disintegrated upon return to the atmosphere.

Every year, in November, I feel compelled to tell this story and possibly do it with new words. There's a deep guilt that all of us should feel reading what we did to Laika. Human progress has often been achieved at the expense of animals that had nothing to do with our desire for supremacy.

Many people believe this was an acceptable price for our conquests, but it seems obvious, even reading this story that was really just a trivial form of prevarication.

We had a duty to choose another path.

We still have that duty today.

Hey guys! I’m Tyson! I’m new here 🐾

I waited for days beside the road where my people put me out at hoping they would come back, however they never returned for me.

A few people would come by and toss me a few bites of food. My belly was empty, I was cold, tired and had no place to lay my head, so in the tall grass I made myself a bed until a nice woman came by and asked if I wanted to go to her house with her.

I might be small but I’m strong. I just weigh 37 pounds at around 2 years old and I like to do the zoomies or just sit in your lap! This new home has other doggies just like me and I get along great with them! There is a smaller human too, that’s called a kid I guess and they’re pretty cool! There’s also cats, I do like them but I get a little too excited to play with them like I do my dog pals so my foster mom says I probably shouldn’t have those in my new house! Also, not to toot my own horn but she says she’s impressed with my crate and potty skills too 😎

Anyways, my foster mom says to please share my face on the internet so I can go to my final home! Hopefully by Thanksgiving so I can get some turkey, corn & green beans! I’m at Empire Animal Rescue Society (EARS) and you can fill out an application for me in the comments ☺️

12 week old - Shepard mixes.

CANDY 🍭 is very much into all things puppy.
👉🏽She is nosy and wants to explore everything.
👉🏽 She loves being near humans at all times.
👉🏽She loves playing with squeaky toys. 🫠🤣
👉🏽 She is working on potty training.
👉🏽 She doesn’t love the crate yet.
👉🏽She does very well with other dogs, we don’t have cats, but I would assume she would he fine with them.

THEA 🍫 is also very puppy like.
👉🏽She’s not as nosy, and seems content chewing on toys.
👉🏽 She loves being held like a baby.
👉🏽She is doing great with potty training.
👉🏽She complains less about the crate than her sister.
👉🏽She does very well with other dogs, we don’t have cats, but I would assume she would be fine with them.

Guaranteed there won't be anything as sweet as this girl on the internet today. ✨️

Lucy is one of the most gentle dogs I've ever met. I would guess she's about 4 years old, a Collie mix. Friendly with all, so snuggly, calm and good natured.

Any family would be lucky to have her 🥹 She'd literally fit right in.

Punkin 7 lbs, Feist mix, approx 7 mos. Good with other dogs. Not sure about cats or kids yet. Scared upon meeting new people.

P***y is a great snuggle pup. She likes to be held and snuggled. She likes chewing on bones and plays with my dogs. She's skittish and a little nippy around new people, however, warms up once she gets to know you.

She sleeps all night in her crate. She has not gone potty in the crate, but is not yet house trained. She is a work in progress.

Hi!! I’m Bella

I’m ready to find my new home.

Just so you know, I get along with all dogs, large and small breeds, I’ve not met any cats, I adore kids, and seek their attention.

I like to cuddle in your lap, although at times I like to explore. I’m crate and pad trained. I’ll let you know about any strange noises I’m not familiar with.

I’m 1.5 years old, and I weigh 6.1 pounds, I’ve been fully vetted, spayed and UTD on all preventatives.

Tall Dark and Houndsome seeks loving home. Rufus loves kids, adults, and other dogs. He is not looking for a home with cats or small animals. Rufus says they just aren't his type.

This Houndsome guy is 4 yrs old, housebroken, crate trained, and loves play and cuddle time! He is half Bernese Mountain Dog and half hound. So, he is a big guy! Rufus is a true gentleman with a little extra flair. For an extra bonus he doesn't even have a dating (adoption) fee as it has been sponsored!!

Trudy is the cutest lil pumpkin in the patch 🎃

Trudy has grown up entirely in rescue and is about 9 months old now. I'll put her intake photos in the comments as well as the link to our adoption application!

She does great with other dogs, cats, and kids. She's never met a stranger and she adores meeting new people. She is a happy go lucky pup in a pint sized perfect package, she loves dressing up for Halloween, going for walks, playing with her puppy pals, and snuggling on the couch. She is potty trained, crate trained, fully vetted, and knows her basic commands. We love her and she is a great dog!

Spooky scary skeleton Shadow 💀 is still looking for his forever home!

Shadow is about 9 months old, fully vetted, cute as can be, friendly with all. He's a good mix of playing and snuggling and a good medium size. He was so patient being painted, which is huge for any puppy! He is crate trained and house broken, and he'll do anything for a treat. He really is a good one 🖤

Monet has her spooky bandana on and she's ready to party 🥳

This gorgeous girl will be 1 year old in December and she has made so much progress from the shy puppy who entered rescue at 6 months old! She is very food motivated and willing to learn, she loves other dogs & dog savvy cats (she thinks they are small dog friends and actively tries to get them to play with her), she loves hikes and the pool, and snuggling in your lap.

She would do best in a home with another dog to play with, without any young children due to her shy nature. Above all, she needs a family committed to helping her grow into the best version of herself with confidence building and adventures. Monet is a German Shepherd mix, she is about 65lbs, fully vetted, potty trained, crate trained, and knows some basic commands. Link to adoption application in comments 👇🎃

I saw this idea and felt it needed a share.

If your furbaby is still missing… with Halloween coming up, you could use this idea. Print out tiny flyers and tape it to the candy or put in the candy bags. You could potentially pass out hundreds mini flyers to families in your neighborhood to keep an eye out for your lost pet.

Also if you haven’t already done the flyers in the neighborhood on the poles, please do it ASAP. Make sure you put the flyers in plastic sleeves (upside down) to protect it from wet weather.

🚨Please SHARE to remind everyone the importance of flyers in high traffic areas. It helps.
