Today was another ride day for the two of them. As you can see, we had to fix Gigit‘s hair. Never took so long in my entire life to try and get a mane braided. After we were done, Monroe proceeded to tell me why she picked the colored rubber bands that she did and how they complemented each other. Then she promptly gave Gigit‘s dirty hairy leg a kiss and told her she was beautiful. 😂😂

Nothing like an early morning turn out with Jinx at 6:45am to start the morning right. Once I drop off my grandson and his friend at the school for their basketball tournament. I’ll go back and put the two horses up. Let them eat their breakfast and then take Monroe out so she can go riding today.

Jinx and her first tying lesson.

Normally, I don’t wait so long to teach a baby how to tie; however, this filly is so opinionated that it was better for me to wait, rather than  take the risk of her fighting this lesson and hurting her poll.  I was more concerned about her learning how to give to the lead rope than anything else. looks like my patience paid off because she didn’t fight this lesson whatsoever. she just calmly stood while I was brushing out Gigit.

Jinx is a very athletic baby who is faster on her feet than you can react to what she’s doing. so I was more concerned about not picking fights with her while keeping her in check with what I want her to do without trying to break her natural tendency to think for herself. As an owner/breeder, it’s a very challenging place to be at. 😆

I have come to the conclusion that it’s the ones that you want to keep that give you the most trouble because they know they’re not going anywhere. 😂😂

Of course, Jaxon had a really good time. The owner not so much, however, she’s given up trying to keep that coat color clean.

I don’t know why but my little horse girl hasn’t been coming out to the barn with me. I don’t know if this is the end of her adventure. A couple of days ago I asked her if we were done doing horses together. That may be Gidget needed to go back to her owner. She started crying and said no. We’ll see how it goes.
