Another pipe rescue that was only possible again because of teamwork and getting creative.

This poor guy got himself into the drainage pipe and couldn't back out. After about 6 hours he finally made it to the other side where we managed to get a snare around him. The drop from the hole was about 4ft so we used the trap as a platform for him to walk out onto. With some encouragement we got him out and he froze in fear and started peeing.

He was nervous but walked back to my car and loaded up. He enjoyed the warmth while Tonya Stein and I gathered all the equipment. We were both soaked and cold but so relieved we got him! He must have been hit by a car since his back leg appears to be injured and he's got some scrapes.

He's is resting comfortably on a big fluffy dog bed and getting small amounts of food periodically to help his body recover. Tomorrow he will go to Marion County Dog Services to be evaluated and serve his stray hold (fastest way to get him medical care without an owner coming forward). Then we will pill him into Little Critters Rescue and help him on his journey to the life he deserves.

This Saturday!!!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Next Saturday we are doing drive through donations to help pay off our scarry vet bills. We need people to hold signs and wave to cars driving by. We provide the signs and fun! DM the page if you want to help. It's Saturday November 2nd from 10am-12pm. Downtown Salem, Oregon.

People please do your research on breeds before getting a dog!! Spay/neuter and vaccinate them.

Most importantly DO NOT DUMP THEM!!! Once you chose to have a pet YOU are responsible for it for their ENTIRE life.

Together we are saving lives!!!

Luckily a good Samaritan hears kittens crying near her apartment complex and found where it was coming from. Three little kittens were stick about 8 feet below the surface in an old pipe.

Huge shout out to Mike Morrow for having a bad ass camera and supplies to extend a catch pole we borrowed from the amazing Polk County ACO Jodie and the dedication to spend several hours in the dark last night and then most of today!!

We got super lucky that when we were attempting to rescue the last one, she was a stubborn little girl, we heard another kitten crying out somewhere in the woods behind us. I followed the sounds and managed to find a little tuxedo kitten hissing under a log. I made the risky choice to grab it bare hand and Mike rushed the carrier over to me at the fence.

This was a huge adventure but totally worth it, the kittens would have died down there and join the other bones down there. There isn't any agency to call in these scenarios because fire and PD are overwhelmed with human issues. That's why us rescuers are a tad crazy lol but we can figure things out with whatever we have in our vehicles. I'll post videos tomorrow so here's some photos for now.

IF YOU FEED COMMUNITY CATS AND ARENT FIXING THEM YOU ARE CONTRIBUTING TO THE SUFFERING. Do not feed without a plan.

Working together works!!

Our village is amazing! I loaded my car up twice today with donations from The Season of Giving pet drive!!

Even more amazing news our friends at Jr's Garage has graciously agreed to be a drop off location for us year round!! You can drop off any pet food, supplies (new or gently used) and even refundable cans!!

You can drop off at their main shop at 2960 Pringle Road in South Salem Monday through Friday 9am to 3pm. There is a large area just in the entrance to the right.

Thank you for helping us serve the hungry pets in our community! Together we are saving lives 🐾💚🐾

Welcome newest foster Frank aka Frankie!! He was dumped with 7 others in a crate. He was deemed feral but now he’s gaining confidence and improving his obedience.

He is a sweet boy that needs a calm, relaxed home that is patient. He is very sweet and is good with other dogs and cats.

He is available for adoption through Little Critters Rescue

Missy has been reunited with her loving family! Her Beagle nose helped her find a hole in the fence at their new home but it got fixed right away so no more adventures for this sweet senior girl 🥰

So glad to have found this sweet, old girl after searching for about 30 minutes!! I was so thankful to have met an amazing Salem PD officer who was in there area that helped search! Check out her cute trot as we walked back to my car, video in comments. I carried her halfway abd she covered me in kisses 🥰

This boy is finally safe! I was so relieved to get the text last night.

He would have been caught sooner had people stopped interfering, even with multiple neon signs asking not to feed him.

When there is a rescue in progress please don't try to help/go against what the rescue plan is.
