Sparky told Santa he is still waiting for his forever home!

He is about 1 year old, neutered thanks to PAL - Prevent a Litter - Oregon and vaccinated, microchipped and available for adoption through Little Critters Rescue.

Sparky is a very happy pup who loves going on adventures. He is good with other dogs and cats with proper introductions.

Today is Coco's first birthday!!!

He has been through a lot already but is such a sweet boy. I am so thankful we were able to help him! Now he is part of the crazy dog house family lol.

We will be celebrating Coco, with a dog cake, this Sunday at 2pm. As long as the weather permits we will be at Englewood Park from 2 to 4, stop by and meet this adorable pup! He is shy at first so a slow approach is best at first. Friendly dogs are welcome to join.

Working together works! Thank you to the amazing rescue trifecta Little Critters Rescue, PAL - Prevent a Litter - Oregon and Operation DOG. Also our amazing partnership with Dr. Anderson and staff at Four Corners Animal Hospital.

Since losing my grandparents in the summer of 2021 and my parents living in a different state the holidays are extra rough for me. Iโ€™ve started making a meal for all my kiddos (dogs and kitties) as the new tradition. Iโ€™m thankful for my close friends rescue partners for making me feel loved.

This year I have SO MUCH to be thankful for, it still doesnโ€™t feel real!!

Welcome Summit an โ€˜08 Nissan Xterra ๐Ÿ˜ฎ, the new rescue vehicle, I was graciously given by one of my amazing supporters and friend Cat Porter ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿš™

The back seats lay down flat and thereโ€™s SO MUCH ROOM!! It also has a ton of ground clearance and is a 6 speed ๐Ÿ˜ not to mention it is also more fuel efficient than Lexy. Now I can park my sweet baby Lexy, โ€˜09 WRX, and only take her out for fun and spare further damage lol. This is such a blessing and I am very grateful.

Taking Coco for a drive this morning was perfect and itโ€™s safe to say heโ€™s not going anywhere, itโ€™s clear Scooter and Bubba sent him to me. Heโ€™s such a sweet, happy puppy and loves car rides.

Thank you to my amazing village for helping me get here!! Iโ€™m excited for the coming new year.

Happy holidays and please remember to limit human food for your pets, check to make sure itโ€™s not toxic before feeding.

As always please spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinate your pets!

"Isn't it hard to send them to a new family?"

Yes BUT it's so worth it! I love getting updates, that's what makes it all worth it.

Mr. Wiggles, now Astro, is living the best life! He had a very traumatic experience when his previous owner took his own life in a house fire. Luckily Astro made it out and the amazing Polk County Animal control officer contacted me. Huge thanks to Deborah West and PAL - Prevent a Litter - Oregon getting him neutered so quickly!

It's been about a year, look what a loving family does to a pup ๐Ÿฅฐ

Diesel has been with me for OVER A YEAR!! It's time for him to get his forever home. He loves people and small dogs.

He was originally adopted to the humane society by an elderly gentleman who then tried to surrender him at Marion County Dog Services after a new dog was adopted and it set off the balance in the house.

Since he is not an easy, quick turnaround OHS would have euthanized him so I offered to foster him. Unfortunately he hasn't had any interest follow through. I am not set up for long term fostering and I do t want his reaction to larger dogs to continue to escalate. He's a sweet, big goofball. He would do best as the only pet in the house but may be ok with proper introduction. Even though he's a tripod he is a strong puller when he gets excited, loves running around and playing. He is definitely an adventure dog.

Please share so Diesel can get his home for the holidays! He is available for adoption through Little Critters Rescue.

Coco update

He had is drain removed today and has put on a few pounds since surgery!!

He was so excited to go visit all his girlfriends at Four Corners Animal Hospital and walked himself right on in. He was such a good boy and didn't even try to move while the sutures and drain were removed, partially because he was scarring down the yummy food Dr. Anderson was giving him.

We still have about $1,600 to go on his bill, any donations can be called in to the clinic directly or sent to Little Critters Rescue. So far there have been $250 donated. It truly takes a village and Coco feels all the love.

This poor guy had been running all over Independence for about a month. It's clear he was dumped and may have been connected with the female we caught a few weeks ago.

He is still decompressing and learning humans are ok. Him foster had called him Zeus and helping him gain weight and confidence.

Since OHS canceled their contract to take strays from Polk County he had no where to go if the amazing lady didn't step up to foster him he likely would still be on the run or euthanized. It's never an easy decision to euthanize but sometimes humans have damaged them and think someone else will save them. If they are already terrified of you, a leash and malnourished why would they immediately trust another human?

Once Zeus decompresses more we will get him into a vet to be evaluated, vaccinated and then neutered. Once all that is done and he is safe to adopt we will find him a forever home. If you'd like to donate to his care you can send to me and note it's for Zeus. I have PayPal, Zelle and venmo the email address is [email protected]

It truly takes a village.
Please do your breed research.
Microchip and spay/neuter your pets!

Coco needs help to cover his amputation scheduled for tomorrow! You can call Four Corners Animal Hospital directly at 503.399.1363 or for a donation receipt you can send a donation to Little Critters Rescue.
PAL - Prevent a Litter - Oregon has graciously offered to cover his neuter, which will be done at the same time, but we need $1,600 up to $2,000 for his procedure.

Here's Coco's amazing rescue story:

Saturday November 2nd, a kind young man spotted a dog lying in the ditch and appeared injured. He went to his house to grab some dog food and went back to see if he could get the dog. Unfortunately the pup was scared and he ran into the drainage pipe. The young man and his mom stayed in their vehicle nearby while trying to get help. Unfortunately Marion County Dog Services doesn't have an officer on the weekends so they posted on social media.

Not long after the post the amazing Tonya Stein went to check it out. I arrived a few minutes after her and we immediately worked on plan A. After about an hour and a half it became clear the pup couldn't back up the 30 feet or so he had crawled in. The other exit he was facing was about another 30 feet that led to a 4 foot drop into a mud pit. With the help of Tonya's ladder we were able to get into the hole and look into the pipe. We tossed in treats and chicken to encourage him to move. After about 6 hours, during a heavy rainstorm, he finally made it to the end.

As we were trying to figure out how to get him out of the pipe and not fall into the mud below, a Marion County Sheriff's Office Deputy and cadet pulled up. Tonya and I laughed knowing we looked suspicious in a field at night but once we told the officers what was going on they immediately wanted to help. It was amazing how much they cared and tried to be creative, the sound of a tazer and road flare at the end didn't phase him. Since he was close enough to get a snare around his big head in the tiny hole, we got him to walk out onto the trap turned in its end and then up into the field. We were all sad and surprised to see that he was a young pup in very bad condition on top of having a broken leg.

He was so happy to load up into my warm, dry car as we loaded everything else up. He came home with me and didn't react at all when my cats and Chihuahua came to greet him. I set him up in my bathroom with a big fluffy bed, blanket, food and water then let him sleep and decompress.

The next morning he waa feeling better and wanted to be on the couch getting pets. To my surprise he was microchipped and I got in contact with his original owner. She was sad to hear he was in bad shape and thought she had given him to a good home. Unfortunately, like it happens often, it wasn't the loving home she had hoped for. The new owner responded to her saying he is out of town and his family didn't want to tell him he took off, then he blocked the original owner.

Luckily the Marion County Sheriff's Office listened to his story, my concerns and saw the xrays and have been investigating. They have located the owner and will be doing a welfare check on the other dog they have. I'm hoping it's enough to press abandonment and neglect charges but as we know it's hard to prove.

Coco is a very lucky dog to have survived on his own, probably since 9/11/24 since he's so malnourished, and possibly getting hit by a car among the other scares on his body. We are slowly building up his feeding amount and once he recovers from the surgery he should be good to go. At this time he is not available for adoption but we will be posting his progress.

Please remember to spay/neuter and microchip your pets. Do your research on the breed, involve a trainer and set your dog up for success to last a lifetime. Unfortunately, the cute puppy stage is short lived and people often feel the no longer can "give time and love" to the dog and expect someone else to take on a young dog with bad habits. No one will love the pet like you do in the beginning so you owe it to them to educate yourself. Dogs need to know how to be alone and crate trained. Anytime they have to go to the vet or if there's an emergency they need to be in a crate.

Had Tonya and I not been able to rescue him he either would have died in the pipe beneath the road or euthanized due to his condition after his stray hold was up.

It truly takes a village and if you SEE something SAY something! Be that someone!

Another pipe rescue that was only possible again because of teamwork and getting creative.

This poor guy got himself into the drainage pipe and couldn't back out. After about 6 hours he finally made it to the other side where we managed to get a snare around him. The drop from the hole was about 4ft so we used the trap as a platform for him to walk out onto. With some encouragement we got him out and he froze in fear and started peeing.

He was nervous but walked back to my car and loaded up. He enjoyed the warmth while Tonya Stein and I gathered all the equipment. We were both soaked and cold but so relieved we got him! He must have been hit by a car since his back leg appears to be injured and he's got some scrapes.

He's is resting comfortably on a big fluffy dog bed and getting small amounts of food periodically to help his body recover. Tomorrow he will go to Marion County Dog Services to be evaluated and serve his stray hold (fastest way to get him medical care without an owner coming forward). Then we will pill him into Little Critters Rescue and help him on his journey to the life he deserves.
