Copied from another breeder ❤️❤️
INTERESTED IN A PUPPY: How much does a puppy cost from you please?
BREEDER : 1500 and up
INTERESTED PERSON: What? That is way too expensive!!!
BREEDER: What do you think would be an adequate price?
INTERESTED: 200-300 maximum, it's just a dog!!! I don't need to go to any shows.
BREEDER: I am sorry to see it this way, why don't you try breeding yourself?
INTERESTING FACT: I have never owned dogs.
BREEDER: I can teach you everything for 100. You buy a puppy without a certificate of origin. Save and gain knowledge for your next litters.
INTERESTED: Deal done!!!
BREEDER: To begin with, you will need to sacrifice part of your yard, land, introduce water and electricity, build premises and possibly fence.
INTERESTED: It won't work, I have an ornamental garden.
BREEDER: We've all had to adapt somehow. First class will be on Saturday at 6:00
INTERESTED: It's too early and on Saturday I spend time with my family and relax.
BREEDER: Yes, I also make sacrifices for years. I decline invitations to many parties, I sleep little at the time of litters, I sacrifice a lot of time for training and keeping dogs, at night I study blood lines and select suitable blood connections. Lest I forget, you sacrifice a lot of money on quality food, vet care, cleaning products, travel costs and storage costs. These are all things that multiplicators don't care about.
INTERESTED: I think I'm starting to understand where you're going with this.
BREEDER: Puppies need to be checked, dewormed, chipped, tested for genetic diseases in all weather. It all costs something. Be prepared that in case of complications during childbirth, veterinary care can cost you 300-500€ more. If it happens at night or over a holiday it will be more. And of course, when you sell the puppies, you also have to pay the owner of the cover dog. These are all expenses that dog breeders will not incur.
INTERESTED: I think I’ll be better off if I eventually buy a puppy from you.
BREEDER: Now tell me why I should sell my puppy to you...
So what do you really pay extra for to a breeder, compared to a multiplier?
- time dedicated to education, socialization of parents and puppies
- professional puppy care before collection
- help with choosing a puppy and guidance during the first years of life
- knowledge
- experience
