🚨FEATURE FRIDAY!🚨
Today we’re featuring Samson, who was adopted from MCDS two years ago. Samson is doing fantastic in his adoptive home. He was a long-term resident at the shelter, and his adopted reports that he is happy, healthy, and well trained. We’re so happy that this dapper gentleman found the perfect home!
We love seeing our past residents living their best life and sharing success stories. If you have an MCDS alum that you would like to showcase, send a message our way! Please include some pictures of your furry friend and a blurb about life outside of the shelter. Please send messages to our Facebook direct messages or email our team at [email protected].

Hello everyone, I’m Mardi! I am I a 3 year old female Dutch Shepard/Pitbull mix. My friends here at the shelter say that they love my huge ears and how sweet I am! I am happy to zoom around the yard or just snuggle up with my head on your lap — I’m just a ball of love! I would be fine with other dogs or kids in the home, but I would want to check them out first just to be sure. Can you help me find my furever home?
More information about Mardi is available on our adoption page: mcdogs.net
Hello there, I’m Ireland, and I am a 4 year old female German Shepard mix! A fun fact about me is that I LOVE catch and I have mastered the “give” command, so we can play fetch as long as you’ll let me! Don’t be fooled by my grey chin…. I can still run just like my puppy shelter-mates! Besides fetch, I love bum scratches and showing off my pretty smile (at least that’s what my friends here tell me). I am happy to go home to a family with dog and human siblings, I would just like to meet them first. Will you help me find my furever home?
More information about Ireland is available on our adoption page: mcdogs.net!
Hi there, I’m Jenga! I am a three year old Husky, and I am very excited to find a family! Don’t let my dazzlingly distinguished eyes fool you… I am a total goofball! I love to get my energy out by zooming around the yard, and I am always excited to sit for a treat. I look forward to going home to a family without any small animals, but I would be happy to meet any other potential dog siblings! Can you help me find my furever home?
More information about Jenga is available on our adoption page, mcdogs.net!
Hello, I’m Romo!
I am an 8 year old Staffy (Staffordshire Terrier) with SO much love left to give. 💖I am currently living with an amazing foster family, but I am ready to find my furever home! 🏡 My foster family says that I am a HUGE love bug who loves car rides and snuggling on the couch. When I am not on the couch, I do just fine in a crate or wandering around the house unsupervised. I am great with kids, but I would need to be the only dog in the home. My foster has been working with me on my walking manners and I have made a lot of progress, so I am looking for a family that can keep helping me becoming the best version of Romo! Can you help me find my furever home!
More information about Romo is available on our adoption page: mcdogs.net!
Bailey-Reunited with her family
Today, Bailey, a 4 year old Shepherd, entered our shelter. Her family has been searching for her for nearly a month. Our team recognized her from a post that her family made on our site when she went missing.
Today, we were able to reunite her with her family! We love to see dogs reunited with their families, and this story is especially heartwarming!
Interested in learning more about dog behavior?
Consider joining our playgroup team! Playgroups are a great way to learn more about dog behavior and gain handling skills. They're also a great outlet for our dogs, and it's fun to watch them having a great time in our play yards!
Allowing our dogs to have social time with each other helps to reduce stress and allows them to build social skills with other dogs that will help them in their adoptive homes.
All playgroup team members begin with our standard dog walking training, and then progress to helping with playgroups.
If you're interested in volunteering for playgroups or other opportunities, you can complete a volunteer application. From there, our Volunteer Coordinator will schedule you for orientation, and you'll receive training and shadow with an experienced dog walking volunteer.
