I think people need to be aware of what's going on here in Marion County. Got a call on Sunday from someone who found STRAY kittens at a school. They found some teachers and families to take 3 but had one left so CAFA took the little kitten into our rescue. So I took kitten to my vet today to get dewormed and vaccinated. After I came home, was going to my mailbox and there was a big taped up box on by my front door. I knew what it was without opening it. A sweet little 4/5 month old male kitty. So here's the deal folks, we have the largest animal shelter/animal organization in the state of Oregon, now has a Salem Campus, and they are relinquishing their responsibility towards stray cats/kittens. This is just the tip of the iceberg and once kittens start popping up like dandelions our community--Marion county is going to be up you-know-what-creek without a paddle. SHAME OF THOSE SALEM CAMPUS PHONY-BALONIES !!!

Even if I had a camera by my front door, how could I go after someone who at least tried to put the kitty out of harms way? Better than throwing him in the woods, on a country road or some place where they could starve or get injured. So little Kyle has a temporary home here until we get him fixed and adopted.

This summer the kitten tsunami is going to look like an endless series of tidal waves. Poor cats/kittens of Marion County. Do the people in Portland know what "their" HS is doing to this community--it's our state capitol for heaven's sake !!!

We now have the official word from Marion County that the Oregon Humane Society does NOT need, never has needed and will not need in the future an MOU to take in stray cats and kittens from Marion County. So far, OHS has continued to incorrectly state that the only reason they are not taking in stray cats/kittens is because of this MOU. But the is NOT correct. CAFA has been in communication with a Marion County Commissioner and obtained a copy of a letter sent to Sharon Harmon December 1. We also know that Senator Deb Patterson is concerned and addressing this issue as well. Both the commissioners and the Senator have many MORE important matters to address and OHS's shenanigans is totally unnecessary and harmful to our stray cats/kittens as well as to the people--the "good sams" trying to help cats in our community. PLEASE share and pass on to everyone you know. Thank you.

This is a photo of just one malnourished kitten found this past spring and rescued by CAFA........how many thousands more in our community will suffer because of the nonsense coming from OHS?

Hey I work at VCA and this morning one of my coworkers was called to bring in a cat hit by a car from near the Keizer city hall building. He is currently in observation and we are hoping the owners notice he is missing. No microchip found.-Paige

I had been out for a walk one day when I heard the most pitiful meowing coming from some bushes. I cautiously approached, and sure enough, there was a tiny kitten huddled up in a ball. She was blind, dirty, and covered in fleas. It was clear that she had been neglected and was in a very bad conditio
