Two years ago I happened to mention to my CatCon vendor neighbor/friend @dorklandia that I wanted to go to Japan someday… She responded by telling me she had been a few times and was planning a milestone birthday there within a few years 🎉🎉😻😻 At the moment I might’ve sounded like I was kidding when I insisted on inviting myself to her birthday, but Kayte humored me well enough that I knew maybe there was a chance it would happen 😹 Well, two years later I made my way to Tokyo to take part in the funnest 50th birthday party I’ve ever attended! I didn’t go for the whole month like Kayte and her husband Adam, but I did overlap with them and some of their crew (12 others were coming and going too) for a few special days 🎉🎉😻😻 I might never have had the confidence to go to Japan by myself otherwise— it was also amazing to be there with these particular friends because of their language knowledge and our common kitty interests 😻😻😻 Even though I was the novice, I actually felt I pulled my weight by finding a few destinations that appealed to the group they didn’t know about— trust me to always find the cats everywhere I go 😹😹😻😻 Anyway, if you want me to come to your Tokyo birthday, give me 2 years notice and I’ll be there 🤪🤪😹😹 This was too much fun and I want to go back!! 😻😻😻 Thank you Kayte for inviting me after I invited myself 😹😹😻😻😻Happiest birthday to you!!🎉🎉🎉😻😻😻🎂🎂🎂List of a few favorite places pictured:🐱 @teamlab_borderless 🐱 Gotokuji temple 🐱 Cat train from Setagaya🐱 “Big Cat Bang” by @kenji_yanobe at Ginza 6🐱 Yayoi Kusama museum🐱 Cat town (Yanaka) in Tokyo🐱 The Necomachi Gallery with art by @wajinmori 🐱 The Soseki museum and cafe🐱 Nyankodo cat bookstore in Anegawa🐱 cat billboard in Shinjuku .#tokyo #cattourism #japancats #bestbirthdayparty
