Those near Salem, MA can also find them in-person at where they are displayed next to cards by artist that accurately show my feelings towards the prolonged winter we’re having ❄️😾 Those in Chicago will have opportunity to get a set at next weekend’s .co event which I will be participating in as well🎉🍀 The price of the kicker sets went up from last year, but so did the kicker quantity so the sets are still a good deal 👍🏻🐱💚They typically sell out, so don’t sleep 💤 kitties 🐱🍀🎉

Just finished pricing the first round of kitty-shaped crystals from the Tucson gem shows 🎉😻✨ There is quite the assortment with some costing as little as $6 🙀🎉✨ They will first be available Wednesday night 2/12- Thursday 2/13 in a story sale on Instagram — free shipping and free local delivery within Salem, MA will be available during that time (time tbd, but starts probably around 7pmEST 2/12) Any remaining crystals will be listed on Notsokitty.com on 2/14 Friday morning along with some new springtime Concombre figurines from Japan 🌸🐱✨ No cat toy or hat updates this time— they will be included in the next update in a few weeks 🍀😻 Thank mew as always for your support! 😻😻😻

What a great third annual trip to Tucson/Phoenix 🎉🌵😻 I’ve gone the past few years for the gem & mineral shows, but I’ve managed to do a lot more each time outside of planned kitty crystal shopping 🛍️✨ This year’s trip got off on the right foot by visiting — I had reached out randomly after I learned there was a cat-themed vintage store in Phoenix, but learned we had randomly crossed paths at CatCon a few years ago later on —that’s how she already had a picture of her cat wearing 3D glasses I made 😻😻 The cat world typically has less degrees of separation than you think 😹 After touring the best of Phoenix with Brandi, I met up with my travel pal for a few crazy days in Tucson 🌵😻✨ It’s always so fun to see all the rocks and visit some favorite Tucson places like & Windy Point in between. I’m back home now and I’ve already priced all the cat crystals I found — and there were a lot of them 🙀 Some will be available for first time at this weekend, and I’m planning a story sale and website update for next week sometime 🎉🎉🌵🌵

❤️🎉💕Surprise 💕🎉❤️ The “My Kitty Valentine” update is now live on Notsokitty.com 😻😻 There are a limited number of kicker gift sets available— the price went up this year, but so did the number of catnip kickers you get so it’s still a good deal 🌱🎉 I also put a few new kitty crystals online including some adorable basket cats ✨😻 If you order by Wednesday of this week your items will ship before I leave for Tucson to find more cat crystals on 1/30. Notso Kitty’s long-anticipated website update is finally LIVE 🎉🎉😻😻😻 Real talk: there’s not much stuff in this update, but it’s all I could scrape together for meow 😅😅 Between CatCon, Witch City Kitty, vending 12 days of October Salem and opening the over the past 4 months I don’t think I’ve ever been so busy— but also I’ve become a jackass when it comes to ignoring things that I really should get to— if you need proof, ask DuoLingo who has helpfully called out my 💩 behavior in their annual review 🤪🤪😹😹😹 Anyway, sorry to keep you waiting. And if you’re disappointed, please join the long list of people (and evidently apps) that would like to file their complaints 🤪 My management, Roxy Hissfit, would like you to know she already has me on a performance improvement plan 🙀🤪 We’ll see how that works out soon 🤪😹 Happy holidays ✨

Meow! You might not have heard from me in a while if you’re not following the account— I’ve been spending a lot of effort on that project these days, so I haven’t had much time to keep up with posting for Notso Kitty. But worry not— this does not mean I’m abandoning my cat-toy-making business roots. I plan on doing both for as long as that makes sense— and it still makes sense for now to do both 😻😻😻 Though it might “make sense” it hasn’t been easy to keep up with it all these days — hence why Sneakers has lived in a pile of packaging materials (pictured) for the past 3 months 🤪🤪🤪 I’m hopeful the sheer craziness of trying to open another business two weeks after my busy October season (which was 2 weeks after — another thing I planned 🤪) will subside soon and I’ll be better at things like putting stuff in the recycling bin 🤞🏻🤞🏻 I’ve been so grateful that you’ve all stuck with me in the meantime through the chaos 😻😻😻
Notso Kitty will only be attending a few holiday in-person events this year: the holiday fair at Old Town Hall hosted by on 11/30 and the Yule market hosted by .ship.market in Old Town Hall on 12/14. I will try to update my website for holiday by 12/7– I’ll post when I do that too (last pic has a sneak preview of some stuff for that) 😻😻😻 If you’re still reading thanks for that— I’ve often wondered if anybody gets through my long form captions 😹😹 Thankful for you if you just skim & look at the pictures too though 😹😹🙏🏻🙏🏻😻😻

Pepita has taken a recent liking to destroying Pom poms with her teeth. I hid my stash from her, but every time I turn around she seems to have found a new one to destroy 🙀🙀I think she’s reacting to the lack of attention she’s been getting during the construction of my project— don’t worry Pepita, I’m almost done with the hard parts ahead of the opening this weekend 11/16 🎉😻🎉😻 Hopefully you can go back to leaving the Pom poms at peace again soon 🙏🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Salem ‘24 Meowloween season recap: The Notso Kitty booth survived our 9th season of participating in in Salem 🎉🎃👻 This year I managed to setup 12 different days in Derby Square for a total of 140+ hrs. Several sales records were achieved at including my best sales day ever and best night sales ever (you might think those purple lights look weird, but they evidently work 💜😹). Some other notes:
-Flexibility and my ability to improv were key this year— each day I was faced with either a piece of technology randomly failing (could Square and the cell networks behave? Not this year 🤪) or some nonsense situation caused by people who think they are looney tunes. I’m proud to say I didn’t scream at wild children who almost took my whole table out once (this happened at least daily)— I just practiced my deep breathing and repeated the mantra “I have insurance” whenever s**t got too crazy and that worked this time 🤪😹😹 I did scold kids for littering and obviously stealing magnets though— I try to be zen, but some things I can’t ignore 🤪
-pics include some visitors including purse kitty and one of two snake 🐍 visitors. Note: if you need people to give your booth space in October, have people with snakes show up 😹 I personally love snakes as long as they aren’t trying to bite me, but most people ran away and I found that funny 😹
-Good cop & Bad cop 👮👮 pic is of Sue & Kelly from the — thanks to them for always telling me where to go and watching my booth many times for occasional litter box breaks 😻😻
-I didn’t get a pic, but shoutout to Lucipurr for visiting me nearly everyday! And to (and weird 😹) for helping out Halloween night! And to all the locals and friends (too many to cite) that came by to offer a near-constant stream of support!! You are all why I love Salem even in its most intense season! 🧡🖤🧡🖤👻😻

I wasn’t going to do a weekend 5 recap post before Halloween because I am running out of time to re-prepare for the Halloween , but I now find myself waiting for the mechanic to check my car battery (which died at the best time- Saturday night load out at 9pm 😭😭😭😭😭) so I’ve found some time to reflect 🤪🤪😹😹😹 Speaking of that car situation it sounds much worse than it was: I was faced with having to wait hours for a jump (the roads were closed 🤪), but fortunately I live within walking distance of Derby Square— so I was able to leave my stuff for the night and deal with it in the morning when everyone was in a better mood. Shoutout to for dealing with that too! 🙏🏻😻 ✨Other vignettes from the week: Hochiss Pochiss is my best selling sticker this season, even if nobody understands the inside Hissfit joke and many pronounce the pun incorrectly 😹😹 I went to the Ropes Mansion for this photo and there was tourist pandemonium in front— in the crowd I saw a person being very polite to everyone else… I gave them a free sticker (not explaining why)✨😻
✨Lots of fun costumed booth visitors this week including as Pete the Cat
✨The picture of my crystal display represents compromises I make: I ran out of itty bitty crystals on Sunday and wanted to make a new display sign Saturday night— but with my car nonsense that didn’t happen so small crystals were labeled itty bitty instead 🤪🤪 The horrors 🙀🙀😹😹 I am a perfectionist inside so it’s hard for me to look at stuff like that, but that display still sold well, so maybe I should just stop with my perfectionist bs 🛑😹😹

✨🎃Week 4 Haunted Happenings recap: we’re in the thick of it meow kitties! Only one weekend + Halloween left of the this year! Here are some observations from this past week’s Notso Kitty booth experience:
🐈‍⬛✨ Finally got a clear shot of the front of the Notso Kitty booth. Note my booth is still not empty — it almost never is in October 🤪🎃 Thank you for keeping me so busy! It was also great when my new landlord from the stopped by (it was our first in-person meeting 🙀😹) to see me so productively working 😹
🐈‍⬛✨ Notable local favorite Debbie Schneider & her cat Mary dressed up in their Mets gear (before they lost again 😭). Fun fact: when I first met Debbie 9 years ago I assumed she was a tourist bc of her Mets hat and the fact I was meeting her in October— but soon I recognized the person wearing the Mets hat visited my booth a few weeks in a row and I needed to know more 😻😻
🐈‍⬛✨: A picture of my display that would otherwise be unimpressive, but it’s impressive to me bc it was taken Day 2 of Week 4 and I still have bow ties left which has never happened! I’ve gotten much better at inventory management over the years 👍🏻
🐈‍⬛✨: My emergency counter Cheezits have gotten an upgrade to a container 😹 Maybe people like will stop mocking my Cheezit situation now 😹😹
🐈‍⬛✨: Another BTS shot, this one of more of my “important stuff”. This list of stuff has evolved over 9 years and I keep sharing it in hopes others don’t have to learn the hard way to what they might actually need. It’s a lot more than I originally thought 🤪

🐈‍⬛✨Could somebody tell me why people have started taking postcards out of my master book after three years of the method working where people would ask me for the postcards from the back of the booth?? I don’t know what happened this year, but this “book” method has stopped working and I’m constantly having to replace the samples in it 🤪😹 Sigh

✨Salem Haunted Happenings 2024 Week 3 is complete! I’m over the half-way-done point with Notso Kitty’s committed dates 🎉🎉 The second half is always the hard part though and I’m already exhausted…. So hopefully I make it 🤞🏻🤞🏻Please pray for me kitties 🙏🏻😺🙏🏻 Here’s some highlights from week 3 accompanied by a bitchy public appeal to improve current aesthetics around Salem 🤪😹 Enjoy!
🐈‍⬛🎃- This kitten visited me Caturday— learning to be a socialized adventure cat in the most social environment 😻
🐈‍⬛🎃- I’m not a big dog fan, but a teacup Pomeranian is basically a cat so I of course I said it was fine to try on cat hats. They purchased the witch hat because how could they not after seeing it on this wonderful cat/dog 😻😹
🐈‍⬛🎃- I’m extremely proud of this picked over kitty crystal display because it was taken Day 3 of the long weekend and it actually still looks okay —- you know you’re getting better at when you sell out of everything important but can still make your booth look acceptable

🐈‍⬛: The sell out cycle has commenced 🙀🙀
🐈‍⬛: BTS— the back of my booth always looks chaotic, but I know where most important things are at all times 🤪😹
🐈‍⬛: A Cry Innocent actor entertains the crowd in front of the kitty booth outside Old Town Hall
🐈‍⬛: I went to the parade wearing my glasses and a cat hoodie and several people I knew walked by me without recognizing me and now I think this is my version of Clark Kent attire 😹😹😹

Well hello there 👋🏻😺 I’ve been trying to update my website for the past two months but failing to put aside the time to make that happen, but today I finally did it 🎉🎉😻😻 So now you should see some things on the site other than “sold out” labels 🎉🎉😻😻 I’m not sure how long I’ll be able to maintain Notsokitty.com into October— at a certain point I usually have to list everything as sold out simply because it is selling too fast in-person in Salem—- but the website is stocked right now, so this is your chance 😸 I also listed a few new goodies like some new Hissfit stickers nobody asked for, some Decole Concombre cats from Japan that I’ve become obsessed with, and some Frankenstein-esque Serpentine crystal cats 💚💚 Also in this post: a look at the Notso Kitty event schedule for September/October which kicks off with this weekend in Salem! 🐈‍⬛✨🐈‍⬛✨ See mew around kitties!

Two years ago I happened to mention to my CatCon vendor neighbor/friend @dorklandia that I wanted to go to Japan someday… She responded by telling me she had been a few times and was planning a milestone birthday there within a few years 🎉🎉😻😻 At the moment I might’ve sounded like I was kidding when I insisted on inviting myself to her birthday, but Kayte humored me well enough that I knew maybe there was a chance it would happen 😹 Well, two years later I made my way to Tokyo to take part in the funnest 50th birthday party I’ve ever attended!
