Our friend Ted Hickman died last Saturday morning. Ted was a great friend, mentor and co-worker. Ted was well-known for his happy spirit, generosity and willingness to help or offer encouragement at the dog shows or in the grooming salon. He was a top professional Dog Show handler, finishing hundreds of poodles in America and Europe, including Best in Show with "Violet."
We kept hoping Ted would return to work and he has left a hole in our hearts. We are happy for the time we had him. He loved all your dogs and enjoyed grooming them, even as he missed the show ring.

Welcome to Ted Hickman. So happy to have him on our team. You may have met Ted in the last few weeks. He has been grooming just over 40 years now and has shown dogs in the USA and around the world! Now we are lucky to have him here to make your pet look like a star, while giving your pets the same love and care you expect from Canine Concepts.

This month we are saying good-bye to Jenni. We have loved having Jenni as part of out family for the past 6 plus years! We will really miss her and her commitment to taking such good care of your pets. It has been so much fun to watch her grow as a competitive groomer, starting in Novice classes and just recently winning a 2020 high point trophy for Open competitors!

We wish Jenni continued success as she moves from Salem to continue the next phase of her life and to continue her education... her next great adventure! She will always have a place in our hearts and leaves a permanent mark in our Salon.

Jenni's last day is March 26th, if you want to stop by or give a call before she leaves. Don't be surprised if Jenni stops in once in a while... she is still family!

No one can directly replace Jenni. We do have a great groomer joining our team and he will continue our commitment to gentle, safe handling and to our "every pet is a star" philosophy. I have known Ted for over 20 years and he has great grooming skills. Watch for the next post introducing Ted. We are confident he will continue with Canine Concepts compassion to give great, safe grooms while keeping your pets safe and happy!
