Meet Delilah, our beautiful 29-year-old Burmese python! While these majestic snakes typically live 20-25 years in the wild, they can reach up to 30 years or more in the care of humans or zoo professionals. The record lifespan for a python in captivity is an impressive 47 years!
Fun Fact: Did you know that Burmese pythons are excellent swimmers? They can hold their breath for up to 30 minutes and are often found near water in their native habitats.
Delilah, our awesome and super chill girl, is fed two medium-sized rabbits that total 4 to 6 lbs (which were
humanely euthanized by the Zoo’s supplier) every 6-8 weeks to keep her healthy and happy.
