Our Mission Statement:
Our mission is to provide spay/neuter surgeries, medical care and assistance to the animals in our community that belong to families in need and to assist the Salina Animal Services (SAS) with our time, labor and interest in re-homing aband

oned and stray animals residing at the SAS. Who We Are:
We are a 501c3 Non-profit organization made up entirely of very passionate volunteers (around 65 total). Seven of those volunteers make up our Board that oversees all of our activities and manages our finances. We have volunteers at the shelter very single day to assist with: walking/exercising dogs, socializing cats, grooming and bathing animals, cleaning kennels, laundry, transportation of dogs/cats to rescues, taking photos of adoptable animals, transportation to off-site events, training new volunteers, and and offering guidance to potential adopters. We also have many volunteers that are constantly doing "behind the scenes" work including: filing, record keeping, financial tracking, grant writing, creating marketing materials, managing our website, Facebook and email accounts. We have several volunteers who foster dogs and cats and can have upwards of 20+ animals at any given time in their home!

Community Partnership happening TODAY & here are the details 👇 Bring your furry friend to Equity Bank & help our local shelter!

For the month of March, Equity Bank, known as the Official Bank of Pets, is running a promotion to help the and the Salina Animal Shelter. They need food desperately for all the animals, plus other animals in our community who may need help getting food. We are simply asking for your help if you have an interest.

Equity Bank will donate up to $2,000 for every pound of food that is brought into the bank during the month of March.

You can bring in any kind of pet food, plus Science Diet brand that is used at the Animal Shelter. Cash donations are also welcome.

They are hosting a live radio remote for 4f hours and from 12:00 to 4:00 pm, we will have a selfie booth that you can bring your pet in and get a free picture taken at our downtown location, 317 S. Santa Fe.

We are in need of more dog and cat food for our monthly giveaway for those in need, especially with the increase of people struggling with the difficult economic times. Individuals can donate food to shelter if they label it for the food giveaway when they give to staff. Also, if businesses would like to sponsor a bin for a month where the public and employees could donate please let us know when and we could provide the bin for you as well as pick up the food! Thank you for your support to help animals and their owners!

UPDATE: ADOPTED Meet 2-year-old Han Solo. Han was abandoned in his home and has now been at the shelter since the 26th of March. He's a very sweet boy but shy and doesn't get a lot of attention from potential adopters because he stays in the dark side of his kennel and crowded rooms during open adoption days are NOT his thing. He warms up quickly and would enjoy a new forever home with his very own human to love. Come to the shelter and meet Han Solo. Be prepared to fall in love!

Come to Salina Animal Shelter until noon today where no appointment is necessary! Here's an example of a couple you can take home!
