Wolf Moon Dogs

Wolf Moon Dogs Relationship based holistic training for your dog's mind, body and spirit located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Hi! I am so grateful you are here!
(11)

I’m Alana, the head trainer and owner of Wolf Moon Dogs located on the lovely Eastern Shore of Maryland. Wolf Moon Dog’s training program focuses on understanding each dog’s big picture while supporting their mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. This holistic approach combines my background as a yoga/meditation instructor with dog psychology, behavior, and obedience. Wolf Moon Dogs is the p

erfect union of my two worlds! I love helping owners and their best friends discover a balanced relationship rooted in trust and confidence. Life with your dog can be full of possibilities once you have the tools to understand and communicate with one another. My absolute favorite is going on adventures with my pack; Charlie, Frankie and Mae. Whether it's camping in the mountains, hiking through the woods or a day on the beach, we love exploring anywhere we can. These three dogs have been my greatest teachers and play a huge part in the daily activities at Wolf Moon Dogs. My pack and I can’t wait to meet you as you start this courageous new journey!

10 year old Cookie truly is a Golden Girl!

Cookie was adopted in 2015 & lived in a loving home all this time until recently when her mom experienced some hardship & did what she could so Cookie can continue to have the life she deserves.

Cookie is currently looking for a soft place to land in a forever home OR a short term foster where she can recover comfortably from a surgical procedure the shelter staff would like her to have done.

Older dogs are such gems & make the most wonderful bestie friends.

Dogs like Cookie really are what most people want in a companion dog. Trust me.

Instead of getting your parents a GSD or Australian Shepherd puppy..get them a Cookie!

For more information about Cookie reach out to the !

Dog walking or day trip hours at the Humane Society of Wicomico County are Tues-Sat 11a-4p.

Volunteers, donations & foster homes are always welcome!

Do you know the most important element of making changes in your dog’s behavior?

The relationship YOU the human have with your dog.

Join me next Saturday August 27th at Coops to Co-ops for a dog Q&A hour where we will discuss the healthy habits you can start implementing to strengthen your relationship with your dog and makes changes in their behavior!

This is a humans only event but please bring your dog questions, something to take notes & a delicious drink!

The farmer’s market with a ton of local vendors will also be open for you to shop before or afterward.

Hope to see you there, my Moonies! 🐺🌙✨

This handsome guy is Bandit and he is looking for a second chance!

A volunteer at the Worcester County Humane Society with a heart of gold organized a fundraiser for Bandit to spend four weeks with me so he can start a new life with his new family off on the right foot!

Bandit is about 4 years old, deaf and one of the most athletic dogs I’ve ever seen! He would make a wonderful adventure dog and will absolutely thrive with someone who is committed to continuing the foundation of training he will have.

I will always be available for additional support to whoever is lucky enough to adopt this sweet guy!

To apply for bandit visit the Worcester County Humane Society website or message me with any questions!

Seeing these two yesterday made me the most happy!

Through his humans setting boundaries, advocating for him & being consistent, everyone’s favorite Velvet Hippo has so much softness and happiness about him now.

From being tied up and left outside a fire station to living his best life with a family who continues to go above and beyond for him, Bob is shining bright!

If we as humans are willing to embrace change and see the dog for who they really are, magical things are possible my Moonies!

Fig aka Figgy Puddin, Figgles, Figster is back home with her mom.

This girl has all the skills to keep her confidence growing so she can keep glowing!

Fig’s mom was ready to make a shift in their relationship and that is EVERYTHING in this process.

The commitment she’s shown to create a more balanced life with Fig has blown me away.

As an owner, you’ll be ready when you’re ready.

And as trainers, we’ll be here to help when you are 🤍🖤

Look out world, I can’t wait to see what’s in store for this dynamic duo!

Sweet Fred was reunited with his favorite person yesterday!

Honoring our dogs as individuals while helping their confidence grow and building a bond founded in trust is the BEST gift we can give them!

Fred’s mom stepped right into the leadership role Fred so very much needs to help him thrive and feel safe in their pack.

As the humans it’s our responsibility to provide our dogs with calm confident energy and clear direction.

Fred has a whole new set of skills to join his outdoors-loving mom on all the adventures. She’s already got big plans for the both of them!

I have such a soft spot for dogs with gentle souls like Fred. He and his mom are a perfect match!

Banzaaaaaai!!

I love a brindle bb.

Banzai has been transitioning to a new living situation the past few months and his humans want to enjoy quality time with him to the fullest.

We’ll be working on building confidence while creating structure and an off switch in the home to help Banzai feel more comfortable in his own skin. And lots of positive, neutral experiences around other dogs to help him feel safe and advocated for.

Banzai’s got a whole group of of very special human friends who love each other like family rooting for him!

This boy has so much love and support around him and I feel so honored to be a part of this next chapter in your journey Banzai 🤎🖤🤍

It’s Rex (Manning) Day!

Are we all obsessed?

Yes, I think so.

Rex is here for all of the Sheppie state of mind things.

This big boy has a lovely foundation thanks to his dedicated mom who planned and prepared for life with a GSD!

Rex will be traveling A LOT so I want to make sure he’s able to adapt to his new environments with ease and feels comfortable in his own skin as a road dog.

With dog reactivity and being able to find his relaxation response at the top of the list, Rex is in just the right place.

Welcome to the WMD pack Rex! 🐺🌙✨

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭.

At the end of the day, dog training is about relationship.

How do dog trainers bond so quickly with client’s dogs they just met?

Trust.

We build trust with the dog immediately through our intentions, energy and clear communication.

Would you trust someone who gave you constant access to all the things you love without asking for anything in return?

Would you trust someone who said one thing but did another?

Would you trust someone who put you in situations where you were set up to fail?

Would you trust someone whose expectations of you were always changing?

Would you trust someone who wasn’t a confident leader?

You might love them..but would you trust them?

This is the core issue I see with so many dogs and their humans.

If you want change to happen, work on building trust.

Often this means doing some self work without your dog and maybe getting a little uncomfortable.

We can’t show up for our dogs if we’re not being honest with ourselves first.

Create a relationship where your dog trusts you and watch the magic happen! 🙏🏻🤍✨

Creating healthy separation between you and your dog physically and mentally is S O important.

In addition to showing them what we’d like them to do when we aren’t home, be calm and quiet in the crate, when we A R E home.

This is especially important for those working from home.

It’s not a coincidence trainers have seen a rise in separation anxiety over the past two years with so many owners now working virtually.

Being with our dogs 24/7 is not possible or practical and will create a codependent human/dog relationship.

Help relieve unnecessary stress and anxiety for your dog by giving them some structured downtime in the crate while you are home.

I remember when I got Bear’s contact form and what stood out to me was his mom writing that she realized the same training she had done with her older dog, wasn’t what would work best for Bear and I literally said out loud, YES!

You new dog isn’t your other dog.

What worked for them more than likely isn’t going to work in the same way for you new dog.

You new dog is going to have their own set of unique challenges and personality traits. And that’s what makes them so special!

You are probably going to have to approach life with this new dog much differently than you had with your other dog.

But that’s how we keep growing and glowing right??

Having an open mind and seeing your new dog for who they are and what they really need will help them truly thrive!

We are here for it all.

The ups. The downs.

The successes. The setbacks.

The smiles. The tears.

To support you as you make changes in your relationship with your dog.

To help you navigate this new territory of self growth.

To cheer you on as you shine brighter.

To listen as you feel all the feelings.

To set you and your dog up for success.

Your dog literally becomes part of our family when we welcome them into our homes.

We give everything we have to this incredible process.

We want to see you living your absolute best life with your dog.

But even with all of this being true, we cannot want it more that you do.
