Yesterday marked the time for this group of young dogs to go home to their owners and get ready to hit the field soon! All owners came out to work with their dogs and they all did awesome! 👏
We can’t wait to see all of the success these owners and their dogs will have this hunting season! Thank you for trusting us with your retrievers and allowing us to be a part of many memories to come!

I’ve heard it said before that a trainer is only as good as the people that help them. This definitely holds true with my assistant Carlos! He goes above and beyond every day and never ask for anything in return. Carlos started out as a client and then wanted to help out occasionally after retiring from the military. Then he went from helping a couple days a week to the one person I count on most at the kennel. If you’ve had the pleasure of meeting him, you can’t help but like him! He’s gonna kill me for sneaking this pic and posting but I’ve got to give credit where it’s due. You’re more than an assistant, you’re a brother and thank you so much for all you do!

Had an awesome day of training with good friend and fellow trainer, Landon Poplin with Wirehair Outdoors! We did some challenging water work and all of the dogs did fantastic!

I’m so proud of this pup! We slipped away from the kennel Saturday to H Cooper Black and ran Willie in his first HRC Seasoned Test and he crushed it! 💪🏻 We can’t wait til the fall season and looking forward to having a lot more young dogs running test!
Thank you to the CBSRC for an awesome test and to all of the judges, volunteers and club members for making it such a success!

Happy 7th Birthday to Windchime’s High Caliber MH “Cali”! She’s the queen bee at River Roan Kennels and one of the most talented dogs I’ve ever trained. She’s given us 7 years of great memories and we look forward to many more to come!

Everyone meet “Rosco”! He came to us for some puppy intro work and we couldn’t be more excited for his future. This good looking pup is sired by our very own “Crue”. He’s definitely a chip of the old block! At only 5 months old, this pup is already holding point, retrieving and honoring like a champ! Be on the lookout for him in the future because this dudes gonna be a rockstar!🤘🏻

What a great way to finish up the 2024 AKC Hunt Test Season at the Armenia Winds Pointing Breeds Club! “Winston” & “Tess” both put all of their hard work to the test and competed their AKC Master Titles on the same weekend! These two dog are some incredible animals and I’m beyond blessed to have the opportunity to work with them!

The River Roan dogs showed out this weekend at the Armenia Winds Pointing Breeds Club!
“Grafin” went four for four and finished her Senior Title! 🙌🏻
“Annie” also when four for four and finished her Senior Title!
“Winston” picked up two passes towards his Master Title!
“Tess” picked up three passes towards her Master Title!
We even pulled Ty out of retirement and he picked up two Master Passes as well!
Big THANK YOU to all of the judges, gunners, club members and volunteers for all of their hard work and dedication! This is one of our favorite test of the year and we can’t wait to do it again!
