Please help if you can….our kittens are very appreciative 😺

Our 12 new littles we pulled from Eastern Shore Regional Animal Control Facility yesterday have settled in perfectly….and they are all BIG eaters! This shelter pull takes us back to over 200 kittens in rescue. Which means we have lots of hungry babies to feed! We are in desperate need of wet & dry kitten food. Good, quality KITTEN food is so important for these growing babies.

Because kitten tummies are sensitive, and quality & consistency in their diet is very important, these are the foods we feed kittens in foster…

PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS TO OUR CATS/KITTENS!!!! 😡

Your contract REQUIRES you return all our rescue kitties to us if it doesn’t work out.

These adopters NEVER reached out to us about Chamomile, and she’s been with them for over 4 months!!!
I cannot even tell you how upsetting this is! This mommy went through hell & back, was very sick/injured when she came into rescue, only days away from delivering her 6 healthy kittens. She recovered nicely, and was the best mommy ever. My heart sank when I saw this post, especially when 3 of her babies are currently snuggling with me as I type this.

I’m praying we can get her back soon. If vet records were provided by the adopter, they confirm she is one of our cats. But either way, we have photos & microchip info to confirm as well.

🌟🐱 Urgent Help Needed to Rescue Kittens! 🐱🌟
Hey everyone, we have an urgent situation and need your help! 🆘 There are three, 2 week old kittens stuck in a storm drain in Pemberton apartments, and unfortunately, the fire department wasnt able to reach them and animal control is refusing to come until tomorrow. With the cold weather, we're really worried about their safety, they likely will not survive that long. ❄️😿
We're reaching out to our amazing community to see if anyone has access to the tools or equipment needed to help rescue these little ones and is able to get to them ASAP!

If you or your business can lend a hand, please message me directly or comment below. We have incubators and experienced bottle feeders ready to take them. Every moment counts, and these kittens need us right now. Let's come together and save these furry friends! ❤️

The main reason we encourage spay & neuter, other than overpopulation, is most kittens born outside or in less than ideal environments, are not always healthy. We work very hard to get them ready for adoption. Rescue is hard. Rescue is exhausting. Rescue is expensive. ‼️

The photo of this invoice is only ONE week of vet care for 2 sick kittens…(& it’s only Wednesday)…these are the kinds of costs we incur EVERY week in rescue & when the rescue doesn’t have enough money, (which it regularly doesn’t), I personally supplement to pay our vets for the care they provide. We operate on donations ONLY & the support we get from our community is the only reason we can help the kittens that come through our rescue. You are helping us save them. 😻

We lost two beloved foster kittens yesterday, one to a genetic condition, another to a seizure. Both kittens seemed perfectly fine/healthy only 48 hours ago.
We are heartbroken. 💔

Another thing I feel compelled to reiterate is… when we do not answer calls, texts, messages (& we get DOZENS everyday) right away, we are either working our full time jobs, or working to save a kitten, or grieving one we just lost, or simply trying to give our family a few hours of our time because we’ve been enduring a busy kitten season since the early Spring. A little grace & patience goes a long way.

Foster Jamie Here! I process adoption/foster applications for our rescue and would like to share updated policies/information for anyone interested in applying/adopting from Cedarcrest moving forward:



-Please do NOT lie on your application, we absolutely WILL call your vet to verify records, we will call your landlord to verify you can have animals and all pet deposits have been paid and forms filled out, we will run background checks. IF you lie on your application, we WILL be more likely to deny you as this is a direct reflection on your character/responsibility towards our kittens/mamas.
-If your current pets are not up to date on vaccines, please list that on the application, we will absolutely work with you on waiting until you can get them in and get them UTD. Please know, however, our kittens are required as part of your adoption contract to have routine vet care, including a once-yearly physical and vaccines, and we do frequently follow up to ensure this is done.
-Your application WILL be denied if you have pets over a year old that are not spayed/neutered, unless you have vet documentation recommending otherwise. It is irresponsible, and we do not accept "they don't go outside" as a reason for not spaying/neutering your animals. Our rescue spends WAY too much time taking kittens from irresponsible owners who do not spay/neuter their animals, we will not adopt to other owners with the same mindset.
-As of November 1, we will be implementing a $25 non-refundable application fee, which can then be applied towards your adoption fees. We spend a large amount of our personal time processing these applications, and this will help deter those who are not genuinely serious about adopting.
Lastly, please remember we are all VOLUNTEERS who do not get paid for our work with Cedarcrest. We all work full-time jobs, and many have kids at home as well as multiple fosters/other responsibilities, these policies are being put in place to protect our time with our families moving forward. We do not mean for this post to deter serious adopters, but we have had dozens of applications fall through/get withdrawn/denied due to the reasons listed above.
As always, we absolutely appreciate the continued support of our community and welcome all visitors to the Kitten Kafe each weekend free of charge to spend time with our kittens. We run solely on donations from the public, and your continued support is what keeps us up and running and helping kittens/cats who cannot advocate for themselves.
