A local woman received a call on Christmas Eve, “Hi, you don't know me but I have your brother.”
The woman’s brother’s name is Joey. He is 64 years old and mentally disabled. Joey works at The North Park Theater so his sister believes he went there Thursday, got scared and stayed over, and then decided to walk back to his home.
A woman named Sha'Kyra Aughtry heard someone crying and asking for help. Her boyfriend Trent went outside to look and found Joey and carried him out of the snow bank and into their home.
Joey was so frozen they had to cut his socks off, use a hairdryer to dry his pants that were frozen to his legs, and cut the straps of a Wegmans bag from his hands.
Sha'Kyra, a mother of three children, fed Joey, cleaned him, washed his clothes, gave him warm blankets and did everything she could to make him comfortable until she could find help.
Sha'Kyra had family FaceTime Joey, which he was fascinated by, to keep him preoccupied from the pain. This is such a heartfelt story, it's almost unbelievable.
Had it not been for Sha'Kyra, Joey would have died.
The frostbite on Joey’s hands looked like it was turning gangrene. Helpless, Sha'Kyra posted a plea on Facebook for emergency help. Kind strangers came to Sha'Kyra’s home and plowed and carried Joey outside wrapped in a blanket to their truck to drive him to the hospital.
Sha'Kyra took the ride with Joey to the hospital so he would feel safe. “No one is going to hurt you honey,” she said to him as they arrived and nurses took him into their care.
Joey had fourth degree frostbite. He is currently in the burn unit at ECMC.
Joey’s sister says Sha'Kyra Aughtry saved her brother’s life. What she and her boyfriend did is an act of pure love.
We’ve never seen a story like this before. It’s truly remarkable.

Just jumping on here to let everyone meet River(1st pic), Russ (2nd pic), and last but not least, Rosco (3rd pic). We are from the hometown of Lexington and loving all the cuddles, playtime, and dancing!! We’ve had a great weekend and can’t wait to come back real soon!!

You know they say better late than never. These past 2 weekends I got to get my snuggle time in with my babies down the street from me!! I Was so excited to hear I was going to be reunited with them!!! If you notice, they got a new family member and her name is T**i!! She’s the smallest one out of the bunch but super sweet. She’s 3 years old and weighs 2 pounds!! I had so much fun with this crew the last two weekends and can’t wait to go back😍

Snoot Doggy Dawg would like to welcome Addi, Chloe, and Deuce to our family !!! Addi is a German Shepard who loves play time with her ball!!Chloe and Deuce are the two Little Sh*tzus that don’t do much but cuddle and enjoy love!! Please help me make them feel welcome to our family!!!

What a great weekend watching these fur babies!!! I would like to welcome Taz( not pictured), Tiny (pitbull), Knox, and Holly to the Snoot Doggy Dawg family!! It was a pleasure getting to have some fun playing fetch with them!! I can’t wait for more visits.

Tilly has landed in the best home! Can you imagine coming home from vacation to a new puppy???? It’s true, sometimes they pick us 💕💕💕

PLEASE PLEASE leave me at home. It's not nice for me to run next to you. But because I am a loyal dog, I often go beyond my limits. And so I run beside you, stand still if I must. And feel my paws burn. I look at you for a moment, but you don't understand. Because in 5 minutes, we will be at the cool puddle, right? But those 5 little minutes can now just be fatal for me. Because I sweat through my Tongue and feet
and this heat I just can't reach it the puddle in time
I cook from the inside, but I keep going.....
And so I end up on the asphalt. In the heat and in the sun. With my tongue out of my mouth and my eyes blinking in the sun.
My feet burned my tongue dry and my head pounding from the heat that my body can't get rid of the heat
Don't brand the paw print!
Let your dog enjoy the sun, at home with a large bowl of water, a place in the shade. And best of all, preferably a cool patch of grass.

What steps do you take to keep your fur babies cool on these hot summer days? Blossom likes to hang out in the A/C and play with her favorite toy, Bella enjoys playing with the water hose, Maybe it’s a shorter hairstyle, or a cool beverage by the pool. Whatever you choose, make sure to keep your babies safe and cool. Remember, if you’re hot, they’re very hot! They’re sporting a fur coat 🥵🥵🥵.
