Melena is a bold, athletic Friesian x Fjord cross mare with a unique blend of beauty, brains, and ability. Available for an **on-farm 1/4 or 1/2 lease**, Melena is seeking an experienced and confident rider ready to form a long-term partnership.

She is not for beginners—Melena thrives on consistency, clarity, and leadership. But for the right rider, she offers exceptional potential and a highly rewarding ride.

**Experience & Versatility Highlights:**

* Scored in **1st Level rated dressage tests** after only 3 months of formal training
* Successfully competed in **Training Level Dressage**, **2-Phase Events**, and **Hunter Classes**
* Shows strong potential in both **English & Western Dressage**
* Carried the **flag at the Billings Rodeo** opening ceremony in Montana
* Trained in **Western discipline** and **introduced to driving**

**Lease Options**

**1/4 Lease – \$450/Month**

* 2 paid, independent, unsupervised rides per week (1 hour each)
* 2 required lessons per month with a Lazy J Ranch licensed instructor
* Ride times must be scheduled via our portal and cannot conflict with facility/lesson use

**1/2 Lease – \$600/Month**

* 3 paid, independent, unsupervised rides per week (1 hour each)
* 2 required lessons per month with a Lazy J Ranch licensed instructor
* Ride times must be scheduled via our portal and cannot conflict with facility/lesson use

**Lease Includes:**

* Use of outdoor arena, covered round pen, and arena equipment
* Structured support and coaching
* Welcoming, family-oriented barn community
* Optional support at in-barn schooling shows

**Additional Information:**

* Riders must follow all facility scheduling and safety protocols
* ASTM/SEI-certified helmet and appropriate footwear required at all times
* **All off-property riding and showing must be requested in advance and approved by Lazy J Ranch management**

Professionally trained in Western discipline and successful in the local show circuit, Blue is now also schooling in English and Western dressage and working confidently at the walk, trot, and canter/lope.

Blue is athletic, willing, and versatile—she thrives on variety and also enjoys light jumping and cross-training using poles, cones, and other arena equipment. Her responsiveness and fun personality make her a great partner for an intermediate rider ready to learn, grow, and enjoy the ride.

Luke is currently schooling in English and Western dressage and confidently working at the walk, trot, and canter/lope. He also enjoys cross-training with light jumping, poles, cones, and other arena equipment, making him a fun and versatile partner for riders looking to improve balance, rhythm, and communication. Luke also drives single or double.

True to the Fjord breed, Luke is kind, steady, and eager to please—ideal for an intermediate rider seeking to build confidence and skills in a structured and supportive environment.
