Good Saturday morning!!
Rick here....
As many of you know, we team up with several rescues to help save lives. One of those rescues, A New Chance Animal Rescue, is one that we have worked with for the past 5 to 6 years.
ANCAR is lead by a very knowledgeable woman named Sophia. Her dedication and integrity is second to none. Last night ANCAR held their annual gala where they recognized Sophia Silverman Shanahan and others for their dedication and hard work.
A few weeks ago I was contacted by one of their board members and was asked to give a video speech recognizing Sophia, thanking her for her dedication to saving lives in the Southeast.
I'm a man of few words and definitely not camera friendly. Thank God for apps with the technology to help me create that speech.
Without further ado.....
Thank you Sophia for trusting us and working with us for so many years.
Our recent transport sending 3 dogs to NY to A New Chance Animal Rescue
Our day started out early in the morning as we needed to meet Pilots To The Rescue in Whiteville, NC, some 3 hours from home base.
This mission carried some extra passengers. Alex Lee and her cameraman Tony, with WPIX 11 in NY, tagged along to do a story about our #teamwork saving lives.
Thank you WPIX 11,Alex, Tony and the entire team for helping us bring awareness to our life saving efforts.
All 3 of our non-profits have teamed up to save thousands of lives. We could not do that without your generous donations and support.
To help us continue with these life saving efforts, please consider a donation.

Tomorrow at 10pm on wpix 11 from NY!!
Good evening my friends. We had another transport. And this one was a very special one!!!
Not only did we get to work with our friends at A New Chance Animal Rescue and Pilots To The Rescue but we also got to meet PTR's transport coordinator, Amy, and her family.
We also made some new friends in WPIX 11 ( out of NY) reporter Alex Lee and her cameraman, Tony.
Alex tagged along to do a story about all those involved in transport such as this.
Yours truly was even given the opportunity to be interviewed!!
I'm not sure how much of it will air. But when it does, we will be sure to share the story here!
Great teamwork as always.
The story will air on WPIX 11 from NY on April 26th during the 10pm news!! How awesome is that!!!
Thank you all for your continued support. We can not make these missions happen without you!!!
Good morning!!!
We are back transporting after a few months off due to planes needing maintenance and repair.
Yesterday, our day started at 6am. Getting the 3 dogs in our care, Geoffrey, Gigi and Ozzy the great pyr, walked and bathed.
After loading the 3 we had, it was a 100 mile drive to vets office in Lumberton, NC where we would load up 4 more. All heading to A New Chance Animal Rescue in NY.
After loading up at the vet, it was a short 5 mile drive over to the airport in Lumberton. Once we get there, we check in and get approval to ride around to where the plane is.
As you can see in this video, crates need to be loaded in a specific order on the plane. That means matching the dogs up to each crate so that they are comfortable. Each dog is walked one last time before being loaded. Sometimes when we have very large dogs, like Ozzy, we need to make space to tether him as there just isn't a crate large enough for him that fits in the plane. I think he's enjoying everything!! Look at that smile!! ❤️
Once everyone is loaded and the pilots prepare their pre flight instructions, it's up,up and away!! On to their new lives.
As an extra precaution, we always wait around to make sure the plane is in the air and there are no issues. I'd hate to have to turn around and go back.
When all is ok. It's back to home-base. 2 1/2 hour ride home to reflect on the lives that we helped save.
It's a team effort. And it's a great team to be a part of. The experience and professionalism of the pilots with Pilots To The Rescue is second to none. Together, we have helped save hundreds of lives.
Our supporters as well are considered part of our team as well. Without you, none of us can preform this live saving effort.
Thank you all for your continued trust and support. 👏👏🐾🐾👍
Enjoy the movie!!
Apollo made some friends today!!
Another huge breakthrough for him after coming from a hoarding house!! ❤️
So, yesterday you got to see Apollo running free and happy.
Here he is on a leash, neverous and not sure what to do. Our way of fixing this is, slow and steady to build his confidence.
We need to rehab him this way so that he can comfortably go outside his comfort zone.
A little Apollo update...think he's happy? He's doing great and getting more used to being on a leash. But, this is what this big goofy boy loves the most!!
