Good morning.
Just an update on one of the pups,pulled to make room at a local shelter, we are fostering.
We have named her Violet.
She's such a sweet girl.
This poor girl was so in need of a grooming. First, she got a bath. Wait til you see the color of the water!!!
Then, we helped her see. That's right, her fur was so matted and overgrown that she couldn't see or open her mouth fully. 😪

But, have not fear! Our skilled and experienced groomer dove right in and fixed her up!! Look how much happier she is!!!

As you may know, we have previously collected and sent several tons of supplies to hurricane impacted areas. We are again collecting supplies to send down to Western NC. The first load will be going down at the end of this week.

Our first rescues from areas impacted by Hurricane Helene arrived this weekend, and we will be welcoming in more later this week and next week as well.

In partnership with Maverick Pet Transportation & Rescue, Inc., we were also already able to deliver 1,000 lbs of much needed dog food to Western NC.

The situation is dire, and we need your help!

We desperately need donations for the care of these rescues and our other dogs! We also need foster homes! We can only continue this mobilization with your support.

NOTE: No strays are being moved out of the area at this time. There are many animals being surrendered in the hardest hit areas. Several shelters were destroyed or still have no power/water. Strays are being moved to the closest shelters equipped to handle them, so their other animals need to be moved to make room for these intakes.

FOSTER HOMES NEEDED

Folks a lot of shelters with outdoor kennels, a lot of shelters suffered damage there are a ton of attempted owner surrenders.
Please step up to become a disaster relief foster.
Many shelters cannot take in animals at this time they just cannot.
Owner surrenders have no place to go and there has been reports that people are letting their animals loose and fleeing because they have lost everything themselves.

Good afternoon.
Update of the week.
This week we have been working in the background helping those as a result of the storm, .
We have teamed up with our good friends,
A New Chance Animal Rescue
And
Hurricane Pets Rescue Inc. (HPR) Social Network.
Together, we are working logistically and coordinating the distribution of supplies that we receive and the rescuing of animals,to assist shelters that are receiving displaced Pets from the disaster area. These shelters are on the outskirts of the disaster area and need help too.

This week we rented 2 trucks to gather supplies and get them ready to be delivered to a shelter. While it was not a truckload, every little bit helps.

Yesterday, we delivered approximately 1000lbs of pet food to the Catawba county animal shelter. We also pulled 2 dogs to open up space for incoming animals.
A standard poodle and a schnauzer mix.

We have more supply pick ups scheduled for next week as well. Hopefully, we will be able to pull a couple of more animals to make room for more incoming Pets.

What can you do?

Volunteer.
If you are in the NC area, volunteer at a shelter, Rescue, humane society. Their staff are overwhelmed and could use the help to give them a break.

Donate.
Find trusted and legit places to send donations. Distribution centers are set up all over. If you can't find one, contact us and we will assist you.

Many herds and homes in WNC have been hit hard by Hurricane Helene. If you are in need of help or are able to assist livestock producers through housing animals or providing feed/supplies, please complete this form ➡️ https://bit.ly/47QBqJz.

The answers on this form will be shared with NC Cooperative Extension offices and NC Department of Ag & Consumer Services and they will work with the local authorities to coordinate all rescues and temporary housing for the animals.

Good Saturday morning!! Rick here.... As many of you know, we team up with several rescues to help save lives. One of those rescues, A New Chance Animal Rescue, is one that we have worked with for the past 5 to 6 years. ANCAR is lead by a very knowledgeable woman named Sophia. Her dedication and integrity is second to none. Last night ANCAR held their annual gala where they recognized Sophia Silverman Shanahan and others for their dedication and hard work. A few weeks ago I was contacted by one of their board members and was asked to give a video speech recognizing Sophia, thanking her for her dedication to saving lives in the Southeast. I'm a man of few words and definitely not camera friendly. Thank God for apps with the technology to help me create that speech. Without further ado..... Thank you Sophia for trusting us and working with us for so many years.

Our recent transport sending 3 dogs to NY to A New Chance Animal Rescue Our day started out early in the morning as we needed to meet Pilots To The Rescue in Whiteville, NC, some 3 hours from home base. This mission carried some extra passengers. Alex Lee and her cameraman Tony, with WPIX 11 in NY, tagged along to do a story about our #teamwork saving lives. Thank you WPIX 11,Alex, Tony and the entire team for helping us bring awareness to our life saving efforts. All 3 of our non-profits have teamed up to save thousands of lives. Tomorrow at 10pm on wpix 11 from NY!!

Good evening my friends. We had another transport. And this one was a very special one!!! Not only did we get to work with our friends at A New Chance Animal Rescue and Pilots To The Rescue but we also got to meet PTR's transport coordinator, Amy, and her family. We also made some new friends in WPIX 11 ( out of NY) reporter Alex Lee and her cameraman, Tony. Alex tagged along to do a story about all those involved in transport such as this. Yours truly was even given the opportunity to be interviewed!! I'm not sure how much of it will air. But when it does, we will be sure to share the story here! Great teamwork as always. The story will air on WPIX 11 from NY on April 26th during the 10pm news!! How awesome is that!!! Thank you all for your continued support. We can not make these missions happen without you!!!
