Depending on where you live, new tulips may be in bloom – if their bulbs are surfacing because of weather or site planting conditions, or from varmints digging. The entire tulip plant is poisonous, but the toxins are most concentrated in the bulbs of the plant. Keep your pets away!

Past Board Chairmen Condemn Board Firing of Dennis Sprung

The undersigned three former AKC Board Chairmen strongly believe that the Board should always show respect and appreciation for the valuable officers and employees of AKC. The present Board has acted shamefully in their dismissal of Dennis Sprung as President and Chief Executive Officer.

Dennis Sprung served AKC for over thirty years. As its CEO he guided the club through difficult as well as prosperous times. The list of his accomplishments is long.

Since at least by this date the Board has not issued any public statement on their action - not to the Delegates, not to the Fancy, and not even to AKC Staff - we are all left to hearsay and gossip to try to comprehend the Board’s decision and the potential damaging repercussions for AKC. The Board has failed miserably in the way they fired Dennis, and this failure merits a badge of shame not soon to be lost. The delegates and the fancy should condemn that act.

Hon. David C. Merriam, Former AKC Chairman

Alan Kalter, Former AKC Chairman

William Feeney, Former AKC Chairman
