Did you know....
Cats are less likely to develop diabetes-induced cataracts due to lower aldose reductase levels compared to dogs.

Vertical slit pupils enhance low-light vision and depth perception - but big cats, like lions, have round pupils!
Feline herpesvirus-1 (FHV-1) is a major cause of corneal ulcers & keratitis - hydration & protection are key in managing flare-ups.

Keeping feline eyes healthy requires proactive care. Consider ocular lubricants & repair gels to support healing and hydration in affected cats.

How often do you see FHV-1-related ulcers in your practice?

Pets don't like eye drops.

Many pet parents struggle with this issue.

But there are ways to make it easier.

Here’s what to do if your pet wiggles, squirms, or hides whenever they see the bottle:

Create a calm environment
↪ A quiet space reduces stress for your pet.

Use treats as rewards
↪ Positive reinforcement helps pets cooperate.

Warm the drops
↪ Cold drops can be uncomfortable; warm them slightly.

Hold your pet gently
↪ Firm but gentle restraint keeps your pet calm.

Practice makes perfect
↪ Regular practice sessions build tolerance.

Use a helper
↪ Another person can help hold and soothe your pet.

Distract with toys
↪ Toys can divert attention from the drops.

Apply drops quickly
↪ Quick application minimizes discomfort.

Be patient
↪ Patience is key to making the process smoother over time.

Consult your vet
↪ Your vet can provide additional tips tailored to your pet.

By following these steps, you can make administering eye drops a less stressful experience for both you and your pet.
