Our Purpose Statement

Serving our local and statewide communities, Utah Friends of Basset Hounds, Inc. Shelter and care for homeless basset hounds. Assistance, when needed, to anyone owning a basset hound so as to keep the dog in a good environment. Placement in suitable foster and permanent homes for all dogs taken into our care. Financial and emotional support, when needed, to our foster and ad

optive homes using the dogs' best interest as a guide. Fundraising events in order to care for all dogs taken in by our rescue. Education about spaying and neutering in order to decrease pet overpopulation and random breeding. Placement assistance to state and local animal shelters for basset hounds and mixed breeds.

Still time to make your year end donation into Utah Friends of Basset Hounds! Our Year End Match Campaign could possible rise $ 12,000! (So far up to $6,000 will be matched. )

We've received some donations that have come in outside of this post so we are part way there. WE CAN DO THIS!!!!

Gus was adopted from Utah Friends of Basset Hounds after he came to SLC on a transport with a group of Basset Hounds. Trust me when I tell you, he learned a lot from those other Bassets during those two days on the road! He plays, loves and doesn't listen...just like a Basset Hound.

We’ve been receiving so many questions on this post !! If you haven’t already received an answer, I’ll answer them now and then get on with contacting those who have sent in adoption applications. 1. We do require a securely fenced yard 2. We DO adopt out of state; will not “ship”. Transportation can be worked out in most cases, with adopter’s help. 3. If you haven’t already, please go to our website and fill out our adoption or foster application. 4. We appreciate your patience with our adoption process. The practice is good for you…you’re going to need lots of patience to raise a Basset Hound. 5.
