Tracy Aviary & Botanical Garden, located in the heart of Salt Lake City’s Liberty Park, is the oldest aviary in the country. This beautiful oasis is home to over 400 birds from around the world, many that are endangered or extinct in the wild. The Aviary features daily feedings and keeper demonstrations, educational programming, interactive bird shows, and much more, all in a tranquil wooded setti

ng. Open to the public year-round; the Aviary also offers unique rental spaces for special events, weddings, birthday parties, and proposals. The Aviary boasts more than a dozen educational exhibits featuring over 135 different species from all over the world. Guests can also enjoy the on-site Bird Feeder Café, which offers freshly prepared food and beverage, and find unique gifts and souvenirs in the gift shop.

Blue-winged Teal, like this male here, are the second most abundant duck in North America. Have you seen this species while birding? At the aviary, this species can be found in Kennecott Wetlands Experience. The most abundant duck species is the Mallard.

We are excited to welcome a juvenile American Avocet to our flock! This young bird was taken to Wildlife Center of Salt Lake to receive medical attention, and it was determined he was non-releasable. We are fortunate to partner with Wildlife Center of Salt Lake to give him a new home. You will be able to see him in our Kennecott Wetlands Exhibit in the upcoming weeks!

Join our horticulture team and local plant enthusiasts on November 9 from 1-4 p.m. to learn about gardening with common plants native to Utah. Staff will be handing out packets of free seeds with advice on incorporating these plants into your garden. Seeds are limited, and guests are encouraged to bring their own seeds to trade.

Casual workshops on collecting, cleaning, and sowing your seeds will be offered at 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30.

This fan-favorite will be set up like a festival with an array of local artists offering talented dance, burlesque, and busker performances (musicians, stilt walkers, tarot card readers, and a clown/juggler.)
