On day three with the Force Fetch (FF) device, phase 2 of FF, with Scout. He does well and understands what he his supposed to do. Will transition to the ear pitch, phase 3, in a day or two.

Continuing to work with Bella on place, here, heel, and sit. I am now introducing her to whistle commands as we work through what she has learned so far. The first video shows me building the retrieving drive while reinforcing place and simultaneously introducing her to deliver to hand. She is coming along nicely - she is a big lug lol.

Continuing to work with Bella on casting to place, here, heel, and sit. This video shows how much she has improved since I started, but is also shows that dogs have a voice in each training session as well. It's a balancing act with each dog - you have to keep them motivated while moving further along the training spectrum. This is a perfect example of the sausage making involved with developing a well trained hunting dog.

Using Remi to help introduce Bella to water. This was Bella's firt time in the water. You can see that she didnt want to hang out too long lol. With proper training and exposure all will be well.

Scout is starting to fill out and is turning into a really good looking stud dog. He will turn two later this year. Once he does, he will get all of his genetic and health testing done. Parents are both EEbbdd (silver factored chocolate).

Scout is almost two. He understands and executes here, heel, place, and sit fairly well. Working now on steadying him, have to transistion to force fetch shortly, then further along the training spectrum.

Remi is a good hunting dog that didnt get to hunt this season, doing some refresher training to get her refocused. Will get more complicated with her as the year progresses.

Spent the first half of the afternoon with Bella working off leash training and introducing her to here, heel, and sit - while casting to place. She is eager to learn, but we have a long way to go.

Bella is all up to date at the vet, and has now begun step one of training. I begin by introducing her to commands and drills to determine what she already knows. Once I get a good baseline, we (the dog and I) begin working together to advance her along the bird dog training spectrum.

We welcomed Ms. Bella to our family today. She is a gorgeous, block headed, chocolate that weighs 87lbs.
