❤️The Earl Young Foundation is sponsoring a STEM cell donor registration to help find a match for Carlie Jo! The entire process takes 6 min! Go see them at the Central High School Cafeteria from 10am-3pm, Saturday June 22nd. Kona ICE will be there from 11-1. Everyone who registers and swabs will receive a free small snowcone!

❤️ On April 24, 18 year old Carlie Jo was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia. She was sent to Dallas immediately and began chemo. She is in the FIGHT FOR HER LIFE. Carlie graduated from Central this year and had plans of attending Texas Tech in the fall to pursue a nursing degree. College is now on hold. Once in remission, she will require a stem cell transplant. Let's help offset some of the financial burden for the Johnson family.

Abby Berry has been a vital part of GMVH for over 20 years and her son Ben has grown up here. He is one of our own and we want to help in anyway we can and hope you can do the same. Please consider donating to this amazing family.

Ben, son of Shay and Abby Berry, has been diagnosed with Aplastic anemia with progression towards myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) This is one of a group of cancers in which immature blood cells in the bone marrow do not mature, and as a result, do not develop into healthy blood cells.
If not treated it will develop into acute myeloid leukemia. Our prayer is that there is no progression before the treatment begins.
In order to treat this, Ben will undergo chemotherapy to rid his body of any unhealthy cells and then he will have an Allogenic Stem Cell transplant/ Bone marrow transplant. Once a donor is found Ben will spend four to six weeks at Cooks Childrens Hospital in Fort Worth Texas for the chemo and transplant; then an additional twelve weeks in close proximity to the hospital for follow up care.
Ben graduated from Central High School in 2022 and currently works for Crawford Construction.
