Due to recent changes in our lesson program we will be having a lot of kids tack up for sale soon! Saddles, bridles, saddle pads. Both English and Western! Both work and show quality. Message me for more details before I post it all on eBay.

So I’ve been waiting on making this post because I didn’t want it to lessen Miss Sophie’s unexpected passing. But at the same time as Sophie’s passing we decided that it was the right time for Sadie to cross the rainbow bridge also. Sadie has been a big part of our lesson program for many years but at 25 and with a bum knee, stifle and back, her pain was overshadowing her lively personality. So once again I ask everyone for any pictures of her y’all have that your willing to share.
Thanks
Alyssa

Due to the unexpected sudden loss of the cornerstone of our beginner and tiny kido lesson program; we will no longer be accepting any new tiny kidos and very few, if any, beginner kids. I do still have my horses for adults and more experienced riders. And of course if you have your own horse(s) I am still available. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. Also if you happen to have any pictures of you or your kids on Miss Sophie as she was affectionately know by here, I would LOVE to see them!
Thanks
Alyssa

We will have a SELF CARE pen available on May 11. Negative coggins, current Vaccines and daily feed through fly control all required.
This is a decent size outside one with shed and automatic water tank for $125/month. Trailer parking available.

Effective immediately… due to lack of consistent participation, retirement of a couple of our lesson horses and lack of good help, we will not be offering “public” riding lessons anymore. We will only be offering lessons to our current clients, and any new clients wishing to start lessons will be asked to commit to a minimum of 4 lessons up front and 2 lessons a month to maintain with our program.

Hey everyone! We have a nasty cold front headed our way Saturday night. Here are a few tips we have found help prevent colic during these crazy temp swings-
SALT! A tablespoon of salt twice a day starting Saturday morning through the cold front will go a long way to helping your horse stay hydrated.
BLANKETS! We have found that warm horses drink more than cold horses thus staying more hydrated. Horses use food to stay warm, thus they eat more to stay warm, warm horses also don’t need as much food. Cold horse not drinking plus eating more to stay warm can equal an impaction colic. A horse owners worst nightmare!
Keep your routine as close to normal as possible!

Boarders!- If you are outside please make sure your water tanks are full! Our faucets will more than likely freeze Saturday night and not thaw till Wednesday morning-noonish. Inside boarders don’t forget there is power by every stall if you wish to use a heated bucket. If not please make sure there is a large bucket in your stall or multiple hanging buckets as our automatic waters will freeze. There will be a large water trough in the barn isle for your to fill your buckets up with. Along with our main spigot in the barn will be kept heated for water access.

Plan on putting blankets on Saturday afternoon even though it is nice! Do all your planning and prep Saturday afternoon! Don’t wait till it’s below freezing! Have plenty of hay on hand!

Riding lesson clients!- as a quick reminder we do not do any lessons when the WIND CHILL/FEELS LIKE is UNDER 40! It’s just not fun for anyone.

Please feel free to ask questions if your need help!

Hey everyone! We have had a TON of fun this fall! But the real MVP of our fun is feeling a little neglected! We have decided to have a fun family cleaning day and give her a thorough cleaning before we kick off for the spring. Everyone who has participated in showing/playdays this fall is invited and welcome to help. We will be stripping everything out, power washing, and stocking her back up. Let’s plan on Jan the 6th!

Need to know before booking a lesson-

I’m gonna take a quick second to answer a few questions I get pretty frequently about lessons-

1. Ages- normally I do ages 4 and up, I will accept some 3 year olds who are very verbal and listen well. Please remember your child is sitting on a 1000 # animal, I need your child to listen to me for their safety. And yes I do accept adults and we do have several adults currently taking lessons.

2. What do I need to bring- Long pants(leggings are fine) and close toed shoes are required. I do provide helmets for the first few lessons. For summer please bring water or a Gatorade type drink, it gets hot fast out in the sun. For the winter please bring an extra jacket, our weather can change quickly and kids get cold fast while riding, especially the littles.

3. How long are lessons- normally lessons are 1- 1.5 hours including grooming, saddling and unsaddling. We do do a special “Tiny Tots” spot for the 6 and unders that’s only 45 minutes.

4. When are lessons- Please see our online booking system for the current schedule. Summer we ride in the morning/evening and school year we start riding at 330pm. We have specialty lesson spots available, along with Beginner Group Lessons plus our Tiny Tots one on one lessons, and Private Lessons. We do very few weekend lessons but always check the booking system and Facebook to see if we have posted if we’re offering lessons that weekend.

5. How much are lessons- Beginner Group lessons are $40/Hour, Tiny Tots are $30/45 min and our standard Group Lesson/Specialty lessons are $50/1.5 hours, we also do Private Lessons at $65/hour.

6. How do I book- please see the link to book a lesson.

7. What forms of payment do you take- We take it all lol. All jokes aside. We do credit cards, Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, Check and good ol fashioned cash.

8. Please be on time for your lesson, remember its your time you're eating into. I will not extend your lesson time because you're late.

9. We have EXCELLENT lesson horses for you or your child to to take lessons on but we do welcome your own horse if you would like to take a lesson on a horse thats boarded here on the property or haul in a horse for a lesson(negative current Coggins required).

10. Brand new beginning riders will be required to sign up for a minimum of 4 lessons to get started.

Please understand we do not do trail rides or one time lessons or birthday parties. We operate as a "Riding School". Generally we put a lot of time and effort into our lesson students and lesson horses and doing such one time things takes away from our long term clients.
Thank you-
Alyssa

Don’t forget our very own King of Versatility and Temperament Jettas Last Dual will be standing again in 2024! See him at all the playdays and races we go to and talk to Alyssa about breeding your mare to him!

Great reminder as we head into blanket season!

Great reminder as we head into blanket season!

A very important reminder courtesy of the horse doctors at Miamitown Equine Veterinary Services:

"When securing blankets, make sure that the snaps/clips are facing inward, toward the horse! If they are facing out, they can easily become stuck on something, like the hay net in the picture."

This is something that I drill into all my students that show. It is NOT all about winning, yes winning is great but…. It’s about doing better than that last time you showed.
