From our Sunday morning advanced obedience class! The half acre fended in field allows us to test the limits of off leash in a safe environment. Advanced obedience isn’t all about off leash though, it’s about refining commands, working on body awareness, and proofing skills. When you’re engaged with training, so are they!

🚨 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! 🚨

We’ve been *DYING* to share this news with you! Exactly two months ago, we saw the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to purchase an established boarding kennel, training field, and a home on the property. Well, TODAY is the day—we officially closed! 🎉 We’re hitting the ground running with managing, training, and gearing up for major renovations to take this property from *good* to *EXCELLENT*.

For those who know it as , stay tuned, as part of the renovations will be updating the name to match our company as Tandem Canines Pet Resort. This expansion means we can now offer more than just training—get ready for expanded boarding and even grooming services! We’re growing from a team of two to six right out of the gate, with plans for more. Oh, and we’ll be living on-site, so we’ll be right there, 24/7, making sure everything runs smoothly!

We owe so much to the incredible people who helped make this possible. First, to Rene at , who trusted us to carry on the work she’s put into this place for the last 18 years. Our families, for their unwavering support and faith in us to take on this huge project. And of course, to our amazing clients—thank you for your patience while we worked toward this dream. We promise, our gain is your gain too!

We are beyond humbled to step into this new chapter and can’t wait to finish the year on such a high note. Let’s go! 🚀

I debated if I should put this on the main grid or just a story, but every time either of us comes across it, it cracks me up. 😂 even with the doggy goggles on and being asked to balance on a funky shape, Schatze is happy to be doing fun things together. We repeat and repeat and repeat, consistency creates depth and when you find yourself in moments like this you can see how far training can take you. Weird scenarios are fun moments together.

Ok last one before our regularly scheduled program of German shepherds 😅
My childhood dog had several quirks that I assumed was a generalization of every dog and only special dogs could do more than her, ie: lay down on command, play fetch and bring the ball back, not beg at the kitchen table. When I met Jess and saw her personal dogs and met client dogs I realized all those “specialized skills” she lacked weren’t her fault, but that I didn’t have confidence in my training. I’ve spent the last several years building my training muscles and it shows through what I’m able to accomplish through my dogs.

If your dog has a habit you don’t believe can be resolved, send us a message and we will see how far we can go to teach them all the “specialized skills”.

Getting shots like this takes two things: a nice camera, and a well behaved model. While the photographer’s skills are her own, we’re proud to say our training set up Potato the golden to be an excellent model in shots around town.
