On a personal note, my home life has taken a little different course as caring for my elderly mother has me doing double duty. We are trying to hire help with her daily care but until then, I’m the main source. Occasionally I may have to cut back certain days or the amount of dogs I can take on a day. I’m so thankful to have employers that are so willing to work with me and are able to step in if needed.
My family has always been my priority but my grooming family is important too. Just wanted to make everyone aware of my situation at this time. Thank you all for your understanding and patience!🐾🐾🐶

During the winter months your dogs may not be as active as usual or may be more restricted to inside because of the weather…this may affect nail growth too!
On average we recommend nail trims on a 4-6 week schedule which is grooming time for most dogs anyway. Dew claws are sometimes removed from most purebred dogs but not always. These now useless ‘toes’ don’t touch the ground and can not be naturally worn down. Sometimes they require cutting more often than the regular nails too. Always keep an eye on your dogs dew claws to prevent them from becoming overgrown.
We have always done nail trims by appointment to make sure someone that could cut them was here. Well now we have owners on the premises 24/7 and they both have grooming experience that includes nail trims! (During regular business hours.)
A call ahead is always welcomed but we are able to take walk ins more readily now too! Nail grinding is also available for an additional charge.

This is Mocha…a Bernedoodle. I just want to brag on her a little…
When I started grooming her last year she was a pretty wild little Banshee. (Keep in mind I am a noose-free groomer) She was everywhere at once and always trying jump off the table or over my shoulder. Now, to me at least, training a grooming dog to stay on the table unrestrained is no different than training them to wait at the door for you to lead them out or any other simple manners. Some dogs fight the restraints more than they fight the grooming! No, I don’t expect them to behave like show dogs and be perfectly still, but they can all manage to be somewhat cooperative when taught why they are on that table to start with. No different than crate training really…they understand the purpose.
Mocha is now almost a prefect table dog and I am so proud of her learning so fast. Of course her human family makes monthly appointments for her and that is a BIG help in her progress! No way I would have been able to step away from her like this before without her jumping off to come with me! I think she is very proud of herself too!

This is my old friend Buster…we’ve been together for many years now and we have always had an understanding…I was going to groom him and he would try to bite me…
He really is a sweet old guy and now he has a new little brother to keep him hopping!

Figure it’s time to reshare my brushing video! I don’t do many videos because, as you can hear, it’s usually pretty noisy back in the grooming area. This is one of my favorite models Reilly…you can tell his parents keep him very well brushed out!
