Sorry for being quiet lately. We’ve had a lot going on over here, but we are diving back in head first with a transport from Houston to Austin.

Meet Tiki. Due to unforeseen circumstances, her mama made the tough decision to give her up and give her a better life.

Tiki is a beautiful hybrid macaw. She’s a mix between a scarlet, green wing, and blue and gold macaw born in 2016. We are happy for the opportunity to part of finding her the perfect home.

Send us a photo of your pet and we will send you a custom painting. All proceeds go to the rescue to help with vet bills, and food for the animals.

We can do any animal! Dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc. When you message us we can talk about colors and styles. (Some examples in the photos.)

This sweet little girl had an accident and needs emergency vet care. Her family is making the hard decision to surrender her so she can get the care that she needs. The vet estimates around $300 for X-rays, exam, and antibiotics.

If you are able to help and donate to her care, I know she would appreciate it, and so would we!

Meet Kickin' Wing!

Kickin' Wing is a leopard gecko that came to us in pretty rough shape. Over the last couple of months, he has completely recovered and is now available for adoption! He is a pretty sassy little dude, and is not a fan of being handled. He does however like to spend his time smiling, eating bugs, and pretending he's a flower.

Welcome to our page. We are Slither and Preen, a rescue located in San Antonio, TX that works with birds, reptiles, crustaceans, and more!! At the moment we are in the process of obtaining our 501(c)3.

Our founders, and main caretakers, have years of experience in wildlife rehabilitation, parrot rescue, exotic vet med, and have many rescues of all kinds at home.
