Annabel is a beautiful girl - she is being fostered in Austin and if she's not adopted by mid- March (love that her foster mom is a planner) she will need to go to boarding for about 5-6 days while mom is on vacay. If anyone is up to the task, please comment - she is a chilled, gentle & loving girl and she is also strong. We can Email you a foster application snd the foster will help sith the hone check as oarf of the process.

A dog ran up on Annabelle recently while on a walk; it was a big dog off leash came up to her - Annabelle was leashed (ppl, please know that your dog may be great with other dogs but s lot can happen ecen with dog ftie dly fogs when they are confined by a leash) HOWEVER, Annabelle was amazing snd wagged her tail and sniffed and they both went on their way.

NOTE:
Strategically, I recommend a blast horn or taser to ward off stray dogs approaching for the safety of both. The taser sound scares dogs and stops him/her "mid-charge" and it never gets close enough to do any damage to dog or handler. I have been circled but the taser kept it away.

MEET SHY

Shy is a 3 year old female, spayed American Staffordshire Terrier mix. She takes her name very seriously. Shy was an owner surrender with a sibling but her sibling was adopted. Unfortunately this left beautiful Shy at risk for euthanasia when she was rescued.

Shy LOVES treats and affection! She is easy to put a leash on and walk outside. According to her foster she does take a little time to warm up, but is super sweet.

Shy is looking for loving home to call her own. She needs a family that is willing to give her the time, energy, and patience she needs.

Meet Batman

Nana,nana,nana,nana, BATMAN!

This super hero is here to save your life…from loneliness and boredom. Jokes aside, Batman is a sweetheart but still a playfull guy! He is a 5 years young German Sheperd mix, dog/cat friendly and people friendly…he might tolerate The Joker if he brings him some treats.

This boy is quirky and fun-loving; he walks well on a leash and is potty trained. He loves to talk to you, and his toothy smile, a result of his cleft palate, is enhanced by his exaggerated underbite; neither trait affects his ability to eat. We don’t know Batman’s background, but he often cowers and hovers near the ground as if in trouble when we first see him in the morning. He likes to walk right at your hip and will look up as he vocally tells you “I love you” - he seeks approval and wants to be touching you by leaning in and on you while you stand and converse with people nearby.

German Sheperds and Malinois should be adopted to people with experience who understand the nature of these awesome dogs - they require exercise, they are mouthy, and energetic. They like to lean on you and can easily knock a toddler over so we require experienced GS people with older children.

Batman is up to date with shots and neutered. He is HW+ but getting full treatment as we speak. Soon he will be good as new and ready for a forever home.

Meet Jones

Jones is a friendly and calm 6 year old dog who loves to give you his paw in exchange for treats. He loves to eat, play, and is especially fond of playing catch with his favorite humans. He can be a bit fiesty with his toys, but with other dogs, he just needs a bit of time to acclimate and warm up to his fellow pups. Once he gets to know them, he's the best of friends! He is a loving and non-aggressive companion who is always up for a game of catch or just some good old scratches behind the ears.

Meet TK

Meet TK! He's a friendly and funny young pup who is full of love and kisses. He likes the attention and meeting new people, so he will jump up (he's working on not jumping quite so much) when he greets you. TK gets along with other dogs, cats, and children, though because of his size and jumping habits, it would be best if he were in a home without small kids. He's a good boy who rides well in the car and walks on a leash calmly without pulling. He's eager to learn more and improve his doggie manners. He's just full of love and potential, and he's excited to meet his forever family!

Bella has perfected the art of relaxation, whether she’s snuggling on the couch or sunbathing by the window. She’s a smart girl who loves treats and already knows sit, shake, and speak—plus, she’s eager to learn even more!

Fully house-trained, Bella enjoys exploring the yard and has great leash manners on her daily walks. She isn’t a runner or jogger, but she happily wags her tail and sniffs when meeting other dogs on a leash. She warms up quickly to new people, though she hasn’t been evaluated with children or off-leash interactions with other animals.

Bella is also a dream passenger in the car, sitting or snoozing politely for the ride. Her journey hasn’t been easy— She had a litter of pups and was picked up with one pup who was injured. The puppy died, and she was left facing euthanasia at a shelter before being rescued and placed with her foster.

Bella is ready for a lifetime of love, adventures and cuddles, and will put her heart and soul into your forever home!

Meet Charlie, one of the newest members of Rescue Pets Serving Vets San Antonio!

Charlie is an affectionate, intelligent, and eager-to-please puppy who is sure to melt your heart! He learns incredibly fast—he mastered potty pad training in just one day—and is one of the smartest puppies his foster has ever had.

Charlie had a rough start in life after being rescued from the streets of San Antonio. Due to past experiences, he struggles with being locked in a crate and will do best in a home where crating isn’t necessary. However, he happily puts himself to bed in an open crate and sleeps through the night.

This playful pup loves his toys and is great at keeping himself entertained while waiting for his person to come home. He’s also a cuddle bug who will soak up all the love and attention you have to give.

Charlie is looking for a patient and loving forever home where he can continue to thrive. If you’re searching for a smart, loyal, and affectionate companion, Charlie is ready to be your best friend!

Esme, is believed to be a mix of Boston Terrier and American Bully. She's so affectionate and snuggly. She's been around multiple dogs - most are bigger than her (as she's a bit of a low rider) and she's okay with cats - there are multiples at her foster's house. We always ask to please go slow with dog to cat intros / she's Vern her 2 months raising her babies and has had many weeks to observe the cats.
