The flower fields are just about empty so we are staying open late for sale today, Thursday Oct 31 until 7pm! We will have flowers until they are sold out!

Flower selection is marigolds, zinnias, Lions paw and assorted fillers. All grown by the Eco Centro team at Garcia Street Urban Farm!

Due to Alamo Colleges Employee Development Day, we are closed on Friday, October 25, 2024 all day so marigold sales will be held off until next week.

Marigolds are ready! We will have them for sale starting Monday, October 28, 2024 at NOON (12pm).

Tentative schedule for Thursday evening's farm stand! Farm tours on the 15's and an Beneficial insect workshop at 7pm. We will have vendors with veggies, flowers (marigolds and zinnias), plants, poultry and pickles and speakers for sale. Oh my! See you at 218 Garcia Street!

Tonight! It will be warm but we will have cool areas to enjoy the evening. Farm tours begin at 5:15pm and our Sweet potato hash cooking demo starts at 6:30pm. Event runs from 5pm-8pm.

We are excited to have local vendors onsite selling plants, pickles, pasture-raised chicken, regeneratively raised beef, herbal goodies and event woodworks and speakers!

Join us for an evening at the farm this Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 5pm - 8pm. We will have fresh basil, sage, and some small cut flower boquets. Our squash and greens are just starting to grow so we should have limited collards and yellow squash. Farm tours will be every hour on the 15's and cooking demo starts at 6:30pm. Bring a chair and a hat and enjoy the sunset with us! See you at Garcia St!

Spend some outdoor time volunteering at Garcia Street Urban Farm! Tasks include weeding, prepping rows for plants, planting and more! No experience necessary and all are welcome. Children do need a parent or legal guardian to volunteer.

Sundays in September: Sept 1, Sept 15th, and Sept 29. From 8:30am - 12:00pm.

Volunteers should bring a hat, closed-toed shoes, gloves if you wish and water bottle. We do have a bottle filling station onsite. Sunscreen, bug repellant and snacks are suggested.

I assure you we are open! You may have noticed we are not as active on the socials lately. As most farm spaces do, when the weather gets hot, we take a small break from as many outdoor activities as possible. But the work never stops. From hosting the amazing volunteers from USAA and The Mission Continues to working with our diehard farm friends - Michael, Susan, OLLU and the Whole Foods Wholmies, we are still chugging along. The farm itself has been mowed down for the summer and the fall plants have begun to be planted. And Garcia Street Urban Farm will continue to serve the Eastside and SAC communities that are dear to our hearts.

If you have supported us in the past or have thought about volunteering, we invite you to check out our fall Farm Stand dates which will be posted here soon. We are still hosting farm friend volunteer days every Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30am - 11am. Please email [email protected] if you have any questions.
