Have I mentioned we have baby animals EVERYWHERE 🥴😂🤣
When I said we have babies everywhere I was not joking! We thought something had got the female turkeys, as we have only had our males for the last few months.
Welp, on one of the coldest days I’m driving past the pond with a trailer load of untouched mustangs and see something weird going down. The turkeys never hang out at the pond and it seemed like more than 4 birds, maybe they made friends with ducks? I decide to stop the truck and go investigate even though we all know I despise the cold.
Surprise! The females are back from the dead and they had been busy….19…..yes I said 19 freshly hatched half dead baby turkeys all spilled out down the hill towards the pond. Apparently, moms wanted to take their kids for their first walk and things went sideways. One had a bad compound fracture on his leg. So I gathered ALL 19 babies and got them set up under a heat lamp thinking some of them where to far gone to survive. They all lived and the broken leg got splinted and set for the one little guy. He has to be helped to eat and drink but he is growing and doing well. They are all thriving now.
And I can say I have 19 baby turkeys living in my bathroom 🤣🙄😅
In a few months we will have turkeys for sale if you know anyone looking…
