Pet Works is sad to announce we will not be reopening. The Pet Works flock is preparing to move to another state and although we are excited for something new, we will be sad to leave so many wonderful bird, human and small animal friends behind. Our social media pages will stay up for a while incase anyone wants to know where to find something. There will be many folks and furry, feathered friends we will miss.

This is a very interesting read. While it’s a pain in the butt, and pocket book, for us how much food ends up on the floor, there’s an ingrained, survivalist reason for it.

The behavior is so consistent across species and in the wild that some scientists think it must be intentional.

Our store is closed but I’m still in contact with a lot of vendors and creative people. Just had someone build this amazing play stand for the flock. 6ftx2ft, 6 dragon wood trees on one base with wheels. I just need to put my toy hooks in where I want. They are so excited!

Passing on the savings. I have used this for my whole flock and they LOVED it. Super easy and nutritious. I added it to their daily chop at dinner time and it made for a totally quiet 5 minutes. Lol

Easy DIY foraging toy. Bottom portion of a shoe box, small foot toys and snacks, then a layer of shredded paper or cardboard. My sun conure will destroy the whole box but my green cheek just forages for the toys and snacks and I can reuse the box.

When all your kids have grown and you don’t know how to be anything else but a mom.....get birds. Our little Monk Mafia and Elwood the Indian ringneck (not in picture) are watching Christmas cartoons while I clean big bird cages.

This little 3.5 yr old male cockatiel is in need of a new forever home. His family loves him very much but want him to have a home where he gets all the attention he needs. Tried out a new Birdie Bread mix. Changed up the mix a little using mashed banana instead of egg and coconut oil instead of vegetable oil. Winston eagerly tried out the batter, approved. The whole flock happily munched their piece they had with dinner. Super easy to make and they all loved it.

Dogs and birds deserve a Thanksgiving feast too.
Birds: Broccoli, cauliflower, celery tops, radish, turnip, beet, carrots, peas, jalapeños, bell peppers, sweet potato, cucumber, pomegranate, chili’s, quinoa and brown rice.
Dogs: their kibble (happens to be Zignature) brown rice, quinoa, sweet potato, cucumber, radish, broccoli, cauliflower, snap peas and a little chicken broth.
