It has been almost a year since one of our seniors or special needs kids even had an adoption application.
I have always trained each kitty with basic commands to make them more "adoptable," but it is time to step things up a bit.

Armin is a special needs senior in the rescue, and has been here the longest with his brother.
He was the puurrrfect candidate to try out our new "investment."

So far, he has mastered treat, play, and cuddle. 💙🐈

If you adopted a kitty from us, you are always welcome to come back if you have any concerns regarding history, behavior, or health.
There is no time limit on this information, either!
Depending on situation, we usually do not have problems with folks returning kitties if things don't work out either.
Lots of love and hard work goes into these guys, we only want the best for everyone involved. 💙🐈

Armin wants to send a big THANK YOU to CUDDLY!

Armin is one of our senior kitties at Meowbox Adoptions, we use treats as part of his behavioral therapy and for everyone's enrichment activities!
This guy is up for adoption, and is one of the rescue's longest residents.
He can be a bit shy around new people at first due to past trauma, but is a loving and talkative man when he gets to know you. 💙🐈

We got a few new followers, so I should update!

A new little girl has "unofficially" joined our family.
Meet Lettie! The chicken-footed fluffy jellybean!

It is still uncertain if she will need surgery in the future, but her foster momma has put in a request for paper litter and royal canin foods to begin her weaning process.
This tyke is not up for adoption yet, she may have a couple battles before that happens, but you can support her and the rest of our kitties by taking a peek at our wishlist. 💙🐈

FREE pet vaccinations + microchips this Saturday!

In partnership with Animal Defense League Texas and Protect Your Pet, we’ll be hosting FREE pet vaccination and microchipping events each month throughout SA.
Join us this weekend at 4710 State Highway 151 from 8am to 10am for this FREE pet vaccination clinic.
What to expect: Clinic services are available for City of San Antonio residents only. Limit to 100 pets served, 3 pets per household. All services are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Please bring a current picture ID for address verification.
For your pets: All canines must remain on a leash or in a carrier. All felines must remain in a carrier, one adult per carrier or two kittens per carrier. Each eligible pet 12 weeks or older will receive a 1-year Rabies vaccine. DHPP vaccines will be provided for canines. FVRCP vaccines will be provided for felines. Each pet receiving services must be microchipped or will receive a microchip at time of service.
We can’t wait to see you there! 🐾

Don't worry, we are still around!
Same kitties up for adoption. 💙
We do have a newcomer staying temporarily, he is just getting some TLC before he gets TNR.

Meet and greets are on hold again, we lost power to half the structure and had some other damage due to the big storm. We are still waiting on insurance claim.
The kitties still have everything they need, we just had to move electric devices to the other half and do some rearranging.

Meowbox Adoptions could use more litter and food, we are still recovering from the recent vet bill.
Apologies again for lack of updates, Link was my personal baby out of the bunch and I had to emotionally recover too. Lost my best friend of 17yrs, it still feels unreal.

Anyways, we could use:

Apologies for lack of updates, it has been really emotional for our rescue.
We brought Link in for a toothache, and after labs to see if he was healthy enough to go under for an extraction (since he was an old man), it was discovered that he had intestinal and liver cancer.
Despite no change in behavior, the vet insisted that he already had a very poor quality of life and we immediately had to make the hard decision.
Link would have been 18 next year.

Incoming!
We have two little fosters in the gang, one boy and one girl about 6wks old.💙🐈
Not up for adoption quite yet, they still have some growing up to do before they are vetted.

No names yet, but Fat Daisy says they should be named Dinner and Dessert! 😹
I'll get better pictures after they settle in and acclimate in their private room.

Due to security concerns, we will no longer be doing meet and greets at our rescue.
We can arrange to meet at adoption centers through petsmart or petco.

It's a shame, really.
I always felt it was best to meet your new friend in their normal environment, instead of scared and in a new place.
One person had to ruin it for everyone. 🤷‍♀️

On a lighter note, here is Fitzgerald enjoying his natural habitat.

Two of our cats that were being fostered under us have been returned to their respective rescue as property.

That's not going to stop us though!
Time to brush off the haters, and get back to work!

There are still 10 beautiful kitties up for adoption here. 💙🐈
They may not be entirely puurrfect, but the old and broken need love too! ...not euthanized due to manageable health conditions and cost.
They don't have the best resumes, but I swear they are all sweet and loving babies (except Galaxy). You just need to get to know them.

Daisy - still on her weight loss diet and doing great. You go girl! Bullying issue resolved.

Hershey - snaggletoothed senior with persistent pillow paws, vet thinks FHV related since her snap is neg. Usually associated with FIV.

Raiden - male calico with allergies

Charlie - the weird opera singer with allergies
(Raiden and Charlie are brothers, so not surprising)

Rose - another weird opera singer. Had severe uti 3yrs ago, but is completely fine now.

Eren - a little shy due to traumatic past

Armin - also shy due to his past, still has anxiety... but nothing feliway doesn't fix.

Red - probably the only normal one here, hahaha!

Lady Loki - experiences random bouts of pain, but not in enough frequency (happens maybe once a week) to effect quality of life. Vet thinks it is neurological.

Galaxy - hates the world. I don't know what I'm going to do with this one.

Elizabeth is back through no fault of her own. :(
She was found dumped in her carrier with all her toys. This is her second failed adoption.

I just want to remind folks that we (along with most rescues) are always willing to bring the animal back if things don't work out. Although our goal is to keep the animal in the home, we may try to work with you first to resolve any complaints or issues.

Elizabeth is already scheduled to go to an adoption event on Saturday, I'll try to get more details. If you want to put in an application for this beauty queen, just let me know!

Heads up, she is on a grain free probiotic diet. I don't consider her special needs, but she does need a bit of extra TLC.
